Called back & was advised guaranteed to win either Ford Escape Hybrid, $2500.00 cash or round trip airfare to "major destinations". Asked when I'd entered sweepstakes. Advised "at either a shopping mall or major sporting event over last 12 months." Told rep didn't appreciate getting calls for what appears to be obvios scam & advised him to put on their Do Not Call list.

- Jo| 1 replyReceived 2 voice messages from Marilyn at "The Notification Center". I will not be calling back! She said I won one of 4 top prizes one of which may be a new car. Since I don't enter sweepstakes it's a miracle that I won.... hahaha! She said she is not a telemarketer, not a time share, blah, blah, blah.... Scam, scam, scam! So.... people at (866) 907-2330 lose my number please!

- Sara K.| 3 repliesMy husband and I received a call from The Notification Center saying that we had completed an entry form to get a car. It also mentioned that we would get a top major prize. We called back to get the details and to see what this was all about. We spoke with one of the representatives, the gentleman was very thorough, pleasant and professional. We attended the scheduled event, had a great time and received a prize. So for anyone that's saying that this is a scam, take a few minutes to listen and check it out for yourself.

- TampaJust received the same notification saying I won a car from entering a sweepstake which I do not do. I play the lottery occasionally but have never entered a sweepstake. A lot of cars have been won it seems like if the others have received the same calls from above. I don't appreciate the fact that "Melvin" states that he knows that I am on the Do Not Call list but nonetheless is able to call me without repercussions on a Saturday.

- Ben A. RowndWow!!! How exciting to win a contest I cannot remember entering. Based on the voice mail left they know I am not on the DO NOT CALL list so this cannot be a solicitation. What choice should I take- 1. Call back 2. Ignore 3. Do research and act accordingly. After all I won one of four top prizes. How riduculous is this and the people it works on.

- MSFI too have received calls and voice mails from these people. I am on the do not call list and I am
reporting after posting this. Everyone who is on the do not call list should report it. I have done so
before and it has stopped calls in the past.- Caller: unknown

- Michael R| 1 replyI also received a phone cal from this number l today, 6/18/2012. I did not recognize the number so I sent it straight to voicemail. The voicemail was a recording from "Melvin...Melvin from the notification center". He said the same thing as everyone else stated above. Since we all won the car, I am wondering who will use it first??? I am in Florida btw.
- spam| 1 replyFunny Melvin called too .. scam
- Pat C| 3 repliesI too received a call this evening from Marilyn at the "notification center" saying my name had been pulled from an entry form I had filled out 12-18 months ago and I had won one of 4 top prizes and urged me to call back. Said they had made numerous attempts to reach me - funny, this is the first message I've ever gotten from them. It sounded like a scam to me so I did not call back, but they do make it sound official. BTW, I'm also in Florida so this must be the week they call Floridians

- No Dummy| 2 repliesI have received many calls like this one and I am damn tired of it. I do not enter sweepsstakes and if I do I code my name and phone number so that I know I did. These guys are just another scam.

A Dozen Ways to Protect Yourself
The next time you get a "personal" letter or telephone call telling you "it’s your lucky day," the Federal Trade Commission encourages you to remember that:
1.Legitimate sweepstakes don’t require you to pay or buy something to enter or improve your chances of winning, or to pay "taxes" or "shipping and handling charges" to get your prize.
If you have to pay to receive your "prize," it’s not a prize at all.
9. Agreeing to attend a sales meeting just to win an "expensive" prize is likely to subject you to a high-pressure sales pitch.
from 800notes since Nov 2008 16 Ways You Can Be Phone Scammed
2. Another phone scam involves calls from “Prize Distribution Centers” that claim that you are the winner in sweepstakes or a lottery. Of course, you are not the only “winner” in the lottery and tens of thousands of people received the same call. The goal of the scheme is to entice you to make a relatively small payment (for example, shipping and handling fee, a sales tax) promising that a much bigger prize will be sent your way. Once the payment is sent, you will most likely not hear from the company again, and a promised “Lincoln Navigator” will not find its way to your driveway. - SallyWell, now I can join the club............and share that wonderful car with everyone. Steve called me, gave the same spiel as all the others in here have mentioned. I, too, don't enter sweepstakes.........
Hope no-one gets scammed by this. Don't know what wonderful gift Sara got..........but, doubt if it's worth the aggravation of listening to some marketing person for an hour or more.- Caller: Notification Center

- Mel replies to Michael RMelvin really gets around ! I just heard the same thing everyone else has reported. I let my voice mail win that car ! Hahaha
In Florida too. - LeaI got the same call and although I do enter these sometimes when I'm out and about, I don't "buy" it! I would expect a call from the event director(not a telemarketer). Ok, so she/he says they aren't one but if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...you know.
Glad this is here to help folks who might not be familiar with scams.

- Sunshine in Fort MyersI got a call this past week from Chantel at 1-866-907-2330:
"Hi this is the Notification center contacting you in regards to a promotional entry form filled out to win a new car. This entry has been selected to win a major prize and it would be in your best interest to call me for details of participation. Please call me at 866-907-2330 at x-134, my name is Chantel. Please don't ignore this message becasue I can only hold onto a major prize for 72 hours. Once again Congratulations!"
This is definately a scam, and I am sure you have to spend money to win a $30 toaster or something. They do make it sound so official and I could see how some people who need a boost of positivie energy or positive direction could easily be sucked in.- Caller: Notification Center

- CraigI feel left out on this one. I picked up the phone all ready to play mind games with these people. I said hello a couple of times thinking that I was probably going to activate their recording. Instead I got a guy(?) saying that he had the wrong number. He apologized, said "have a nice day" and hung up. No sweepstakes win for me this time. Bummer.
