I just got a call from Melvin. Same pitch as above. Here's one way to throw him for a loop....Answer the call and say ok if I won what is my name and address? Low and behold Melvin hung up on me.

Same message, but the voice is a female, so I think she claims her name is Marilyn, not Melvin.  What a joke.

Ah ha! Melvin called me, too!  Looks like the female is named Marilyn and the male is Melvin. How ludicrous... Melvin told me the same stuff he told you guys.  I love what Palmetto Florida says! I have to try that one! I live in Florida, too.

Same message has been left on my answering machine once every few months. How can we officially get them to stop if they aren't there when you call them back and I'm already on the DNC list?

I too, am in FL. Didn't waste my time calling back.

I understand coding your name. I have done that in the past when registering products with a manufacturer. It's amazing how fast the sales calls and cards start coming!
But how do you code a phone number that still allows them to reach you?

Sara, or is it Melvin, what a bogus message. Thanks for using these boards to lie to people and try to trick them into paying any attention at all to these sales calls.

Shouldn't these guys be reported to law enforcement? It is an obvious scam. I have never filled any entry form for a new car in my life.

They are calling me and it needs to stop.  They are invading my privacy and it's against the law.

Received message stating that I had won a major prize, that they were not telemarketers, and very important to call back before losing prize. Said that I had entered a sweepstake and won. I will not be calling back, as I have not entered any sweepstake, if this was real, they would send a certified letter to notify you. Also, they did not use my name when they left the message,so for all they knew they could be leaving the message on the wrong phone if anyone had one.

I have not signed up to win any cars in many many years. If the calling company was legitimate, they could always MAIL me since I have not moved in 10 years. He has NOT called before, despite the words he used in the voicemail message. Yes, I'm on the Do Not Call Registry.

"Hi, this is Melvin calling from the Notification Center. I have made numerous attempts to reach you regarding an entry form that was filled out in your name within the last 12-18 months to receive a new car. This is my final attempt to notify that your name was pulled to award you one of our top four major prizes. It would be in your best interest to give me a call back as soon as possible. My number is toll free at 1-866-907-2330 ext. 124. We are not a telemarketing agency or timeshare, and this is not a cold call. So please do not ignore this message. I am very aware of the do not call list so I wouldn't be calling unless you actually entered. This is a time sensitive matter. I do look forward to hearing from you. Once again congratulations. My name is Melvin."

Wow! What kind of car did we all win?  I do not answer 800 calls or calls without ID!  Actually, I do not answer my phone.....period!  It goes to voicemail! I got the same phone call on my answering machine advising me to call Marilyn back to claim my car prize for angry that I know nothing about!  I am fed up with the phone calls from these scammers and !refuse to give them my time!!

I got the same call last night and I called them back, details as above mentioned. I do fill out those little entry things at home shows etc. and who can remember back 18 months!
As she talked to me about scratch offs and qualifications, I soon realized it was a sales racket and the only thing I won was possibly the fifty dollar food coupon. Even that is probably unusable without spending money. I am glad I found this info here, I won't be going to see them.
I have a claim number so I am going to tell them I don't qualify because of income and maybe that will stop the calls. We have gotten calls from 1-800 service before and this is all related. This was the first time anyone left a message, however.
