- ReneeGot this call from Mel today (8/16) in Iowa. I figure that calling back must be what they want - perhaps they can get information on a callback that a robocall out from their number can't generate? Certainly a scam (since we all can't be 1 of 4 winners of a new car!) - and I'm not calling the number.
- Jim replies to JoSame Scam from a phone number a few minutes ago date 08/17/12 at 1:40 PM from 1-866-907-2330 telling me I've absolutely won 1 of 3 prizes and to come to the Ramada Inn on Saturday 08/18/12 needless to say I never filled out anything at a Mall, sporting event or other and NEVER give out my home phone.
SCAM SCAM - Dre replies to ewhb| 2 repliesI received the call too, however they have laws against scams now. I was told I would need to attend a 90 minute presentation from Map Destinations in Florida. I was told I would receive a scratch off ticket at the end and was guaranteed one of four prizes: 2012 Ford Explorer or $25K, a 27 inch TV, or a vacation package. I went, and if I could have afforded it (it was a really good deal, and Map Destinations has been in business 30 years with an A+ BBB rating) I would have bought a package. Even though we didn't purchase, we were still treated with respect, and given a choice of 4 scratch tickets to choose 1 from. I chose mine and won the vacation package. I got a $50 dining gift, a free 4 day, 3 night stay at the destation of my choice, and an addition 7 day, 6 night stay at another destination. No airfare, but FREE stay at hotel or timeshare of my choice. So, it is NOT a scam. Again, I would have bought it but I never felt pressured and was treated as if I did purchase. And I did receive one of the guaranteed prizes as promised. So, all the non believers are missing out! I know grandma said if it's too good to be true, but this was TRUE.
