Keeps calling my 90yr old dad, its a SCAM, wish i could stop them from calling him, how do they get these numbers anyways

been receiving several phone calls from unknown company.please stop.

I have gotten calls from this number multiple times this week.  They don't leave messages so today I answered and got a recording stating they were calling regarding a "pre-legal matter" and I need to speak to someone immediately.  I chose the option to speak to someone and got a recording no one was available.  I called back and got SARAH BLACKWELL who refused to provide a company name and/or to give me any information on what I supposedly owe before I verify my personal information.  I told her to quit calling and mail it and she said they don't have to do either.

Received several calls from 8557057686, 8557957293 and 8669352205 - this number is all linked to the same scammer James Johnson, threatening charges filed, when called back, they want my social security to verify who I am... Um no....  Received a "demand for payment" letter  and if you search for the company name WWA & Associates, there is no such listing, the address they have supplied 7707 S Orange Ave, #592596, Orlando Florida 32859; is actually in a mail center, not an actual business address. And also on the letter, they have a different number, 8557427148 - they also have my name wrong. Many misspellings in the letter itself, the address is totally wrong, even the state I supposedly live in and the letter does not even sound that it has come from a debt collector - I am sure many of you have received a legitimate one. Also, debt collectors do not call you; they will often send letters and it will be on your credit report is it is real.  Please be careful of this individual. He is scamming people.

been getting daily calls from this # for somebody else tried to tell them that person isnt at my # but never get to speak with anybody so annoying that if i knew who it was i would threaten the crap out of them

This number called my phone several times over the course of a week. I always ignored it. When I ignored the most recent call, an automated message was left claiming they were looking to collect a debt and advising I call ASAP to avoid legal action. Too bad for them I know this is SCAM because I have no outstanding debt! Ignore these calls!

I have received several calls from this number over the last couple of weeks I never answer today an automated message was left saying pre-legal matter from a debt collector no company name was ever given and no name was ever mentioned as to whom they were trying to reach. I was curious so I returned the call and I got an answering machine saying no one was available to leave a message no company name was given on the answering machine.

I have repeatedly received phone calls from this company. I know that i have zero debt collectors as i barely went through a fine tooth comb on my credit for other personal reasons.

Why is this number calling my cell phone and house phone. The person doesn't said anything. All u hear is a bunch of static.

The initial call stated my husband owed $2000 from a hospital stay in 2008 for which he was entirely covered.  I asked them to send the bill to my address so I could submit it to my insurance company and they said they did not have it because it was in dept collection now.  However, if I agreed to pay it right then, they would accept $535 and consider it paid in full.  ARE YOU SERIOUS!!???  RED FLAGGGGG  Now  they keep calling without leaving a message.  Want them to be stopped, Wish I had recorded the original call!

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I'm reading allot of these ridiculous comments. I called the 1-866-935-2205 they were very pleasant helped me pay my debt off at a reduced rate. It was real debt that I owed. I believe alot of the people complaining are people who are annoyed they are being called to pay a bill. I guess everybodys experience is different.

Oh please.  Many of the posts describe obvious FCDPA violations, yet here you come, responding to old posts, praising this scammy company.  If you think they're so great,  post their complete name and street address so others can check them out.

I actually had my attorney look into it. They are  on the up and up. They do not buy debt they actually have clients they collect for. My attorney as well as the attorney general checked them out. Found nothing on them.

So you didn't get anything in writing from them until AFTER you paid? Great - another FDCPA violation.  But yet you're sooo happy to have paid these crooks.   Not buying it.
