This woman calls my restaurant wanting to speak to an hourly employee, I informed her that hourly employees do not take calls and she asked for the manager. I am the manager and she asked me why I didn't know the person she called for worked for me. I told her that I would not release that information and she attempted to ruin my day with her negative attitude. I called back to have her remove me from her list and a man answered and hopefully did so.

I am sitting here at work right now and have just gotten 3 calls from this number in the span of 20 minutes.
they have left one message but continue to keep calling me.

I get calls from 8669476802. They are even calling anyone with my last name looking for me. My fahers ex-wife from 30 years ago got a call looking for me. How is that legal just calling anyone with my last name? Isnt that harassment...

I got a call from this company integrity solutions. They asked for my husband wanting to get a background check on my sister.  My sisternever used his name as a reference.  The number that came up was 567-245-4531.

Number that appeared was 302-251-8615, the number they ask you to call back 866-947-6802.  They said they were calling from Central Credit Services.  This number is linked to a bunch of so called collection agencies, get everything in writing!

Unknown caller with electronically generated voice. Difficult to tell who the call is for because it is so garbled.

Auto recording from Central Debt Collection looking for a person that does not live here and I do not know. My number is unlisted, so I let them waste their time and erase the messages when they come in.

443-938-9633 non-fixed voip unregistered number... traveling on 695 highway. Central Credit called with an automatic voice stating to call them regarding an important business matter at 866-947-6802.  Did not identify who they were looking for or for what.  Researched number and appears to be fraudulent credit scammers. No one owes Sally MAE or any other student loan in this household.

We too being harrassed by 971-352-4350 telling us to call 866-947-6802; when we call they want us to verify OUR information.  We tell them we have excellent credit and NO claims against us, what it this about - they won't say a word until we supposedly give them OUR information.  No way!  When we try to explain there is no way we are giving out our information if they want something from us read us the information they have and we will confirm if it is us or not.  They refuse, so we hung up.  They are calling 3-4 times a day! And we DO NOT OWE ANYONE ANY MONEY.  Now I'm going to pull a credit report on ourselves to make sure someone hasn't stolen our identity or something weird.  Just another scam!

This is a legitimate debt collection agency.  I was able to set up payments with .000000001% interest for the remaining balance on my Sallie Mae loans that is reflected on my student loan account with Navient as well as on my credit reports.  Anyone that is receiving calls from them either owes someone money or is a known contact of someone that owes money.

This is obviously phishing and you should not call them back.

Same as everyone else…local number, but they give you a toll-free number to call back. You can keep generating new numbers, and I'll keep blocking you…I don't know how many block spaces an iPhone has, but I'm willing to find out!

And when I get tired of your little game? I'll change my number. ;)

Called Navient/SMC about a loan I'm supposedly 12k past due on..."oh, that went to default, this is who took it". Yeah, even if I HAD the money to negotiate something, I'm not going to give it to one of those companies that leave you automated messages and claim that if you don't pay them, they'll drag you before a magistrate.

(I was going to hit like on Golden Girl, until I realized that was probably me, too!)

Local call # calls and leaves message to call  866-947-6802. They say they are collecting a debt.  I don't owe anyone.

In any event,

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.
