- JLA| 1 replyThey have been calling several times a day. I finally answered and they said they were from register.com and wanted to update my contact info. Of course, I didn't give them any information.
- ChltBrokerReceive a call from this number every day. Since it is a toll free "incoming" call I assume that someone is attemtping to sell me something. I don't answer.
- Aaron| 2 repliesI got a call from this number. I answered it and heard nothing.
- RK| 4 repliesI talked with someone from "register.com" who wanted to upgrade my services. I am not sure it is on the up and up since they could always send me an e-mail.
- Caller: register.com
- Iphonemikethis number belongs to sales company for Register.com. If you have purchased a web address or service from register.com this is how they got your contact information. This is NOT a debt collection service.

- MeToo replies to orangecrowYeah, I get about four calls from them a day. I just picked up and it's dead on the other end. They should find some better use of their time.
- LJOver the last week, I get calls from this number sometimes 4 times a day. I generally do not answer if I do not know who is calling. After a week of the repeated calls and no voice messages left, I decided to pick up on the last call... there was nothing but dead silence. I called the number. Its a sales company for Register.com. They wanted to update my services and asked many questions which I did not feel good about answering. I kindly asked them to remove my name and number (kill them with kindness usually helps in removal of the my number with the auto dialer). We will see if that works. HaHa

- skeptic1Got a call from 877-204-5289 and a woman with a non-US accent said she was with Register.com and to follow up on an email she said they sent me about the domain names I had registered with them. She wanted to know if the info I had on file with them was correct. I told her a dozen times that no info had changed and she insisted on asking me about each piece of info about me. I didn't confirm or give her any info except to repeat that no info had changed.
Then she said that I had not selected a "security question" and that she could get that info from me over the phone. I told her I would log in and use register.com's web interface to check my setup because I could not verify over the phone that she was who she said she was.- Caller: register.com
- Catalina| 2 repliesI've been getting 3-5 calls per day from these folks. I picked up several to notify them not to call -- the phone is usually dead at the other end. Picked up this time and got a person who identified himself as from register.com. He said he wanted to update personal and account information, including questions about credit card. Sounds like a scam to me.

- Annonymously replies to RK| 3 repliesIt is on the up and up. Its register.com they are Federally required to update your information since the xxx domain has been approved.
call them back if they call you, its legal and they have to do it by federal regulations. - BobbelieuI have nothing to do with register.com and I just got a phone call from them. It was also dead air once I picked up the phone.
- MarkoCall the number back and they asked my name and what domain I had with them (register.com) i said i didn't have any with them and they were calling several times a day and no message or person on the other end. I asked that they remove my telephone number and they said they were sorry and will put me on the no call list. Call them back and have them remove your number from their calling list! Hopefully done with getting calls.

- domain owner replies to Annonymously| 2 repliesNO registry makes phone calls to update information as required. They will send an email to the registered owner's address on file.
If you get a call from someone saying they are from a registry organization, do not give out your information.
go to the organization you registered your domain with to check the validity of their need.
ANYONE can get domain owner information/phone/address about ANY public site/domain.
800, 866, 877, 888 numbers can be spoofed as "incoming call number".
As with ANY unsollicited call, or incoming call YOU did not initiate, even if you recognize the number, DO NOT give out verifying, personal, or private information, unless you want the risk of someone changing your information and hijacking your site. - domain owner replies to Catalina| 1 replyYou were right about NOT giving information.
Register.com will send email to registered owner of domain name. they do not make phone calls to update info.
If you don't validate the info, they can shut the domain name off until you do, but that doesn't happen often.
just go to Register.com to do the validation.
The phone calls aren't necessairly a scam, but don't let your guard down.
BTW, I am getting calls from them, I do not have any of my domain names registered through them. - Bluto29Yes - one more time here. I got a call multiple times, googled the number and found this site.
I called register.com and let them know this is a major hassle.
They put me on the DoNotCall list, so that means this is NOT the required update for WHOIS info. This is just a robo dialer connected to a sales team that has no one to actually take the call connect.- Caller: Register.com
