I am getting lots of these "abandoned" phone calls from various numbers.  You can get on the FCC website and the National do not call website and submit a complaint.  It's quick and easy, only takes about 1 1/2 minutes!

I've gotten five calls in the last four hours.  All from this number and all hang up after a few seconds of silence.  I'm in South Carolina.

Probably a political survey worker.  It appears they are paid for the volume of calls made whether they talk to the party or not.  They may be tired of being cussed out.  I am beginning to hate election campaigns.

My moms number is part of this 1-877-218-5230- unfortunately the only part a call return picks up, so when local people get these annoying calls they get pi--ed off and hit call return and get her ( my Mom )and she has to go thru the whole story- thanks to some helpfull (irritated at first) callers they finally figured out how this was happening,however our phone co. says sorry you will have to change your phone num?? what! shes only had the num for 20 years... has anyone else has this happen!!

Received 3 calls 10 minutes apart from 1-877-218-5230. I am on the do not call list!!!!!!

Chinese and then English political drivel “to help the children of California”.

Left a message to vote for someone that I now wouldn't consider because of the phone call.

I live in Houston...I received my first call today at 4:46pm. The way I understand it, these marketing companies hire "surveyors" to call your number to find out when the best time is to catch you at home.

Just got one of these calls.  No sound at the other end.  I'm in Wisconsin.

hang-up or defective automated call

I got a call from 877-218-5230 this morning. I answered it and after three seconds the line went dead.  I tried calling back an it said to leave my message.  I left a message that they were to stop calling my number!

Didn't answer, but they left a message asking me to vote for someone for Texas Supreme Court.

877-218-5230 calls my house, but no answer, its happened twice today already!

Campaign ad.  Annoying.  But I repeat myself.

Started receiving these calls today from this number. I've received at least 6 or more so far. No one is there. I call the number and it goes straight to a voice mail to leave a message.

2/27/2008  Getting calls about once every ten minutes.  No one is there, line stays open for about 20 seconds, then hangs up.  I phoned this number and got a recording, left my contact info and asked to be taken off whatever list i've drawn to my missfortune. Hopefully calls will stop soon.

Well I just got a call from that 877-218-5230 that showed up that way on my phone, with out the 1, but they hung up as I answered it on the third ring so I then tried calling it back and was told it was not a correct number. Whoever calls on that must just be a creepy one and change the actuall number to a bogus one.  I even researched the web to try to find it and it came up saying it was not a correct number.

I got my first one this morning.  Unfortunately, politicians exempted themselves from the Do Not Call list regulations.
