- TammyHad a message left on answering machine from Jen telling me to call her asap about our credit card machine needed to be updated and I need to call her at this number. When she called her number shows up as a private call.
- Caller: Merchant's Choice
- Call type: Telemarketer
- LindaAll they left on the answering machine was their phone number. I always look up unknown numbers on Google, anymore, after reading about so many scams. We do get messages all the time about urgent credit card terminal updates. We don't even use a terminal.
- Caller: Merchant
- Call type: Telemarketer
- E LacterI receive frequent (about weekly) voice-mails that say: This is Merchants Choice and that it is important that you call us back at 877 218-8883. The voice sounds urgent and commanding, like something is very wrong! It is quite unsettling! I called that number back today and talked to a manager. He said their company upgrades credit card merchant accounts. I do not receive credit card payments. I told the manager that their messages are deceptive and frightening. He said that they are acting legally. I asked about their business name and he said that they are this corporation: http://www.bpsworldwide.com/ I believe that is in fact them. But I have no idea where I can lodge a complaint about their business practices.

- mtmReceived a couple of calls Sunday night @ 8:05 p.m. Caller ID showed "Unknown" so I didn't answer the calls. Caller left a message after 2nd call saying, "it is imperative that we speak to you" regarding DMV terminal update and to call 877-218-8883. Reading the comments from others who have received calls from this number saying that the call is regarding a credit card terminal, my business does NOT accept credit cards and I do NOT have a credit card terminal.
- PaulGot an automated call from these slime-balls tonight. Yes... this is a scam or worse!
Beware of ANONE who uses the term, "Merchant Services". This is a code word for... I'm not your real merchant services company but don't want you to know that. If your "real" merchant service company calls you, they will use their name such as First Pay, First American, BluePay, etc. - Rich L. replies to Lisa| 4 repliesThis is not a scam we contact all business. We may have called you in error. This was to alert companies about being compliant and having the new EMV/ smart chip terminal.
- Rich L. replies to Karen| 3 repliesI have recording of all calls. Mike NEVER stated he was acting on behalf of you processor.
We are here to help business have the state of the art terminals for free, reduce there fees and free supplies for life.
How is that a scam?? Sorry you feel that way. - Rich L replies to DeanWe are here to help you reduce the costs and fees that you pay with your current processor and give you free terminals and supplies for life. I don't feel that is a scam.
- Rich l. replies to xenmon| 2 repliesThis might be the craziest thing I ever heard. We have no way of tracking anything. We only process the cards for Visa and master card and discover card and Amex. We never get the full account number or info about the customer.
We offer the free equipment to earn your business,. If you are paying for a terminal or leasing one then you are the one getting scammed. - RIch L replies to JENPlease call or sales office 1-877-218-8883 we will supply you with free terminals and free paper for as long as you process with us. We also will meet or beat your current processors rates.
Merchant Choice - Rich L replies to sd46| 1 replyIt is true. If you don't have the EMV terminal in place they are shifting the responsibility on the merchant.
We clearly state the company name on all our calls in and out of our call center. Along with it on all the paperwork we send out. It clearly states that by signing below you acknowledge that we are not your current processor.
We are here to help business. - Rich L. replies to Big KBig K that is really unfair. We have thousands of happy customers. All we do here is reduce rates and give out free terminals and supplies. I can't tell you the number of companies that charge or rent or lease a terminal.
We give the lowest rates and have 24/7 support and sve clients/business a lot of money. I don't see where the scam is in that. Sorry you feel that way. - Chicago JoeInitial call from 888-426.3440. They left VM to call back on the number shown here. Sleazy way to do business if not an outright scam. If it was legit they would say we'd like to talk to you about a better deal for CC processing.

- Yoda1725Not sure if it is the same company, but here is an interesting press release by the FTC, http://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases ... sinesses-buying It is over a year old, but they seem like the same outfit mentioned.
- We're not sorry... replies to Rich L....that you shill are so obvious!
- You said replies to Rich L"We're here to help business" - yeah, maybe the business of lining your own pockets to the detriment of the naive who fall for your scam.
- JOE replies to Rich L.the message said it was from jen, she is a non existent person at the company. So basically your company is trying
to scam people or you wouldn't have to lie.........
