National fundraising phone campaigns are sometimes real but how do you know?  As a leader in a local chapter of a national veterans support organization my advice is to give locally where you can check up on who is getting your money.  All our folks are vets and volunteers.  No fundraising overhead and everything goes to local programs in our county.  When I get a call like this (if I feel like answering) I chat them up for as long as I can without giving them anything then end with: "I hope I've wasted enough of your time to keep you from calling me again."  Then just hang up.

This time, some guys says, "Is Alice there?  Hello?  Hello?" and then hung up.  He said this into the answering machine.  Ditz.

Veterans calling for my husband asking for a donation. They refused to talk to me because they know the answer will be no. We donated like almost 2 years ago and have got nonstop phone calls since. Sometimes up to 10 a day. I told the guy last time that we are not donating again and to stop calling. They haven't called since but it's just a matter of time before they all start calling again. Children's hospital, breast cancer, etc. And the foundations actually get very little of the donation because the company's that make the calls take most of it.

Stop calling me. I will call the states attorney .You wake me up calling in the morning and at night. I don't answer because I DO NOT TO SUPPORT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answered call (as it wasn't previously blocked)...dead air. 2 more Hello's, finger poised over the red BLOCK NOW button on my CPR Call Blocker...and a guy asks for me by first name. "Yes?" I say. More dead air, and I hit the button. No more calls from them from that number. Thanks to all y'all for adding their other numbers so I can block them too:

Called again this morning, when I answered caller said "Goodbye, hello is this (my name) and hung-up.
If only something could be done about these very irritating calls.

I've gotten several calls from them.  Seems these comments go back to 2011!  I guess they can continue because they're a "charity", if in fact it's Foundation For American Veterans.  FFAV is a registered charity.  However, their financials are abysmal; like maybe 10-11% goes to programs.

Another almost decent outfit seen on TV a lot lately is Wounded Warrior Project.  One thing they tout is "back packs with 'care items' to hospitalized vets".  They do about 60% to programs; not very good.  If you want to make sure money goes to vets, give to the American Legion or VFW; 100% goes to care items for hospitalized vets; and other programs.

Anyway, I just let the guy talk and held my phone up toward my tv .... until he hanged up.  If they call again I'll block them.  Too bad they can't be reported to the DNC, since they're a "charity".

Robocaller that sounds a lot like a human.
Asked for my wife.  Said there was no message.

I asked it to tell me what 2 x 3 was.
It thanked me and hung up.

this A hole continues to call my home. I have asked him not to call they hang up and call again in a week, month or whatever.
These Scams are constant and are a daily annoyance.

Call ID only as "Toll-Free Call."  No message.  Many calls from the 877 area code, all say just "Toll Free Call."  I do not respond to charity calls, particularly when many come from organizations that are essentially raising money for themselves (such as the Komen outfit, spending less than 20% on support for research).

I am being harassed by constant phone calls, day and night, every day from the Foundation of American Veterans.  I am not a veteran and do not have any veterans in my family.  They call and just hang up.

I have received a call from whatever it is, or at least a number with the same area code and pre fix for more than a month.  I do not and will not answer but this is getting frustrating.  5 or 6 calls a night!  I am on the do not call list.  How do I get rid of these calls?

Received phone call from this number starting at 9am 4-28-15 until 8pm . Says it's from 800 Services,but leaves no message on answering machine. Very annoying.Wish they would stop calling. Do not answer calls from this numbe anymore.
