I changed my home # ( AT&T) secondary to months of relentless spam telemarketers that AT&T sold my # to. However, they can still get into trouble if they do not place you on their internal DNC list when asked.  Even Political and Some survey's are subject to fines if they do not comply!

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or less. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

"hello jean?" they pretend it is a wrong number, then a strong, most likely phoney pitch to send money to homeless veterans. I've blocked their number. If you have Comcast voice, you can block them.  Seems like a scam in the name of homeless vets. Shame on them.

These people (I verified the telephone number is identified as Foundation for American Vetrans FAV) and they literally call me 1-4 times a day.  I requested them to remove me, and I reported them to the DNC registry.  Today when I called again they prompt you to leave voice messages ONLY, and wait for a call back.... THIS IS HARASSMENT!  AND THIS KIND OF CHARITY ORGANIZATION IS MAKING IT MORE DIFFICULT FOR REGULAR CHARITIES WHO ATTEMPT TO COLLECT DONATIONS IN A NORMAL, NON HARASSING MANNER.  TY

Don't answer these types of calls as I never know who they are.  Looking this number up, people are saying they claim to be a "veteran's organization looking for donations".  Don't want these calls.
    Very irritating.

Need to speak with someone to stop the calls?

Here is the PRESIDENT of the FAV's info:

    Mr. Larry Siedell, Sr.

Mr. Siedell Sr. retired from Government Service after a 30 year career, he entered the Real Estate business with stints at Century 21 Commercial and Coldwell Banker. Larry also represented a nationwide company for many years in searching out and assembling land development sites as well as participating in the successful negotiation and completion of their strategic land acquisitions for a major drug store chain. Larry’s professional experience and contacts provide a broad range of management capabilities.

Larry also founded a nationally recognized non-profit organization for military veterans and currently serves as its President. The Foundation for American Veterans successfully serves to facilitate the needs of returning veterans in many ways, from homelessness to providing in-hospital hospice needs in 32 states nationwide and assisting over 100 VA Center Hospitals around the country.

Mr. Siedell is a graduate from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor Degree in Science.

    Cell: 734-658-2082 -- Email: larrysr@gerdomrealty.com

Feel free to contact Mr. Siedell, Sr. directly since the telemarketing firm he hired DOES NOT respond to requests to have numbers placed on their internal Do Not Call List - if they even respond at all.

The Foundation for American Veterans earns 0 of 4 stars from Charity Navigator. According to Wikipedia, this 'organization' only donates 6% of all funds raised in service to veterans. Additionally, they have been accused of harrassment for their repeated calling of individuals they believe to be veterans or currently in the military. Complaints have been filed in all 50 states. It is also not a 501(c) (3) public charity.

According to this Charity Navigator article:
At the Foundation for American Veterans in Michigan, just 6 cents of every dollar raised goes to services for veterans. At the American Ex-Prisoners of War Service Foundation in Tennessee, it's 2 cents. At the American Veterans Relief Foundation in California, not even a penny. "It's disgusting," said Trent Stamp, president of Charity Navigator, a nonprofit watchdog group in New Jersey. "You can't respect your donors if you think that people who write you a check are entitled to have 2 or 3 cents of every dollar reach veterans."

According to this Military Money Matters article:
The Foundation for American Veterans does not publish financial information on its web site.
The Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance reports that the organization failed to provide the requested information, so BBB cannot determine whether it meets their 20 standards for charity accountability.
According to a Charity Navigator report in 2005, the Foundation for American Veterans used just 6 cents of every dollar raised for services for veterans.
Despite this lack of transparency with regard to their financial information, we were able to locate a form filed by the Foundation for American Veterans, Inc. with the Secretary of State for the State of Washington (charities must register in each state in which they intend to solicit donations). According to the information filed with Washington State, for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2007, the organization had revenue of $5,263,927, and spent $528,196 on program services out of total expenses of $5,118,508.
In other words, for FY 2007, the Foundation for American Veterans devoted 11% of its total expenses to program services for veterans.
