- Fred| 1 replyThis Phone number is linked to 1-877-212-4158 the primary problem!! This number was given to MY 80-Year old Mother who is Sick + on Oxygen 24\7!! The fact her phone picks up call when she answers late-Records Calls helped. The Lady who helps her played message to me over her Cell #. I called,& told them NOT to Ever Call her again or would have her MD fill out paperwork & take to the Law. This is the 2nd Day with this bunch!! I would ignore them but she is legally Blind reason for her phone recording option. This is why You must turn them into the Law as she is not a reference on anything. They say it's Legal to Call references but Funny that its been 30-Years since that happened!! Long Wait?? Please Call the FTC or BBB-They have 5 Complaints with BBB for Collections. Please don't fall for this as Creditors will contact Debtors with paperwork first+Time limit on Bill Collections (Check for Yourself). - Vilma E RamirezThis people called me several times. When I called back and asked several questions they hang on me.. this is a rip off!
- JoStarted calling me 2 weeks ago. Called 4 times a day. Left voice message saying doing trace and locate on me. Says if I do not respond, that according to the law, they have the right to contact family and friends. Starting calling my daughter today, leaving same voice message.
- PawneeSince this number is related to 877-212-4158, I am putting my message on here too.
I had something like this happen to me about 2 years ago. Every time I get a call I don't recognize I look it up and I found out they were a scam. The first time I talked with them I already knew they were a scam but I was playing along. I asked them to send me validation and they actually sent me something to my email. I could tell it was fake and since I have never taken out a pay day loan I knew it was fake. The next time I answered the phone I told them that I had reported them to the FBI and the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General. They did a little back talk with me but I just kept it cool and laughed at them. They knew I was onto them and hung up, they have never bothered me again.
Now, I get this call with the message that is mentioned above. I looked up the number again and found that this was another scam. I answered when they called this morning and hit the 0 and then listened to the guy talk. He said that I had taken out a short term loan several years ago and was committing fraud for not paying it back. I asked if if this was a pay day loan and he wouldn't say pay day loan, he just kept saying short term loan. Well, I know that is a pay day loan. He then said that I had deposited it into a certain bank account. The bank account he mentioned was one I had and has been closed for over 12 years. I had enough so I told him that I had already reported this fake scam company to the FBI, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Attorney General. I think it took him by surprise, then he came back telling me that they had a B+ rating with BBB (Better Business Bureau). He didn't know that I had already checked that out and found out that they are not even accredited with them and they have an "F" rating with them. So I told him that I had already checked them out on there and that they have a F rating and are reported as a scam. He said "You did?" He came back with, "Well we are just handling this for Access Holdings". I told him I have never heard of that company and I have never taken out a short term loan (pay day loan). I have never received any correspondence about this either and told him again that this was a scam. I think he knew I was onto them and couldn't be suckered by them. He told me that I was wasting his time then and hung up. I haven't gotten another call today so far.
I think that if they are a legitimate company then they would still be calling since I didn't tell them to stop calling. He hung up before I got to that. I am going to be notifying the credit companies and checking my credit just in case someone did take one out in my name. But, I doubt there is a loan because he said it was several years ago and I just checked my credit a month ago and nothing like that is on my credit. But to be safe I will be notifying them.
Also, when they start telling you that you have committed a fraud or anything that pertains with legal stuff like that, I know they are either a bad credit collection company that I will report or it is a scam. Only lawyers that do collection can talk legal and they can only go so far. They can't tell you that they are sending a police officer out to your home.

- EThis company randomly called my family yesterday with an automated message asking my wear abouts and tried calling my phone but I blocked the number. I noticed under blocked calls they called me today so I called the number and said to stop harassing my family and I with scam calls the lady claimed she didn't know what I was talking about I said I contacted the police, fbi, and ftc. I called back a few minutes later to tell them again to stop contacting just to be sure and the guy was a real smartass and said my file had been removed I said I never had a file and your company somehow hacked innocent people he claimed if I paid a loan on time he wouldn't be contacting me I have no loans so nice try. He said they wouldn't contact me again so I'll believe that when I see it. Do not give this company any of your information if you really had debt that needed collected you'd get something in the mail and it would be on your credit report, the company also wouldn't contact your family or make threats to you!

- CynthiaI started getting calls about a week ago from this number threatening to have local law enforcement dispatched to my home or place of employment- what the what truth I filed chapter 7 last year and there should not be any debts other than the few credit card accounts that I've opened to reestablish positive credit who is this?
- Anonymous| 4 repliesThis company called me and several members of my family to ask about my "whereabouts." I called them back and they read me my social security number and said they were trying to collect on a cash advance from 2013. I said I had never heard of that and it sounded like a fraudulent use of my information, and asked if I should be putting a fraud alert on my accounts. They said no and that they'd be in touch. I've filed a complaint with the BBB here and will be taking further measures to protect my information: http://www.bbb.org/atlanta/business-reviews/c ... ton-ga-27513837

- William in PortL replies to AnonymousYou gave them information they should not have - never tell any caller that the SSN they have is actually yours. The less they know for sure, the better. In the future, if you think a scammer is calling you - and there will be more - get their call-back number, which can be given to the FTC and listed in a police report, or just hang up on them.
- WolfmanJack replies to Anonymous| 2 repliesThe BBB is a toothless organization with no law enforcement powers. The proper place to report this criminal activity is here:
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

Further, I would put a fraud alert on your cerdit reports at the 3 credit bureaus, and also file a report with the IRS using the correct form (probably 14039) http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/How-Do-You-Rep ... aud-Activity%3F - Jennifer replies to WolfmanJack| 1 replyThanks for posting the above. They just started harassing me and family members who some are divorced and no longer related.

- Suga1968I received a call the other day from this number with a recorded message saying they are a trace company or something and legally have the right to call others for the whereabouts of "my name"! I called back and was left in a voicemail box. Received another call from "Mike at BRG" left a different 800# ext 306 so I called again. Mike was very snippy and kept saying they have the impression that I am aware of this debt. All he would say is Cardinal Management was filing a legal complaint against me for a payday lian of $300 and the total collection was $700+. When I asked who Cardinal was he would only say they represented Internet payday loans. When I asked him who or how can I get more information, he just kept repeating that I should know who and said good luck and hung up. Well they had left a message at my mother's also. I called back, this time not putting in any extension and reached a woman who did give me more info. Stated I took out an Internet payday loan in 2013 for $300 that was deposited in my MetaBank account! Bam! That's when I knew it was a scam! Anyone who has ever used a prepaid debit card will have MetaBank as the "banking institution" for record or accounting purposes! It's not a real bank! And the ONLY payday loan company, Internet or not, that will work with MetaBank is Check Into Cash! Who I DID have a loan through and was PAID IN FULL! I had my paperwork in hand ready to dispute this fraudulent claim! She still tried to say I took this other loan out asking if anyone could have access to my card! He** No! I then proceeded to tell her that not only have I had this card since 2006, but that my paycheck has been faithfully deposited into that account since. I could produce documentation to prove this alleged deposit did NOT go into my account. And she tried to say she would mark her (fake) claim as "refuses to pay"! I told her oh no you aren't! I told her she will remove this (fake) claim from my name, ss#, and anything else relating to me AND they will NOT EVER contact me, my mother or ANYone in my life regarding this again! She knew I wasn't falling for it, so she stated after this call no one else will contact me or my family and she will put this (fake) claim in dispute which will remove it! I thanked her and hung up!
I received calls from a foreign speaking person for almost 3 months straight about 2 years ago with a similar attempt for the same bank account! So needless to say I was ready! I will be reporting these calls though anyway!- Caller: BRG

http://consumer.georgia.gov/consumer-services - SteveYeah I got this call last week, I didn't answer it because I already knew it was a telemarketing or debt collecting call. I talked to my Mom a few days later it seems as though they called her and told her that it was trying to locate me and that it had legal right to call her. She didn't say anything to them but let me know. I looked up the number online and this site popped up. So right then I knew it was a scam. So they called me again today 11/12/15. I answered. First thing I can tell you from working in the telecommunications industry is that whenever a debt collector calls you the very first thing that they have to say to you is "this is an attempt to collect a debt all information received will be used for this purpose". This girl did not say that. She did not announce herself, she didn't announce a company name, nor could she say anything about the company I was supposedly having a debt with, other than it was a 'short-term loan company', HUGE RED FLAGS!!! She is required to announce herself, her company and who she is calling on behalf of if this was a legit debt. She also sounded like she was on drugs or something because she did not have a very pleasant phone voice, which is the second red flag for me because telecommunications companies only hire those with great voices and those who speak clearly. This young lady did neither. And she told me that this was in reference to an online loan I had taken out in 2013. The problem is that I have NEVER taken out an online loan, but I did apply for one so I am wondering if they hacked into their system and got our information from there. After I explained to her that I never took a loan out online and told her that it was incredibly rude of them to call my Mom, she said that she would mark it as 'disputed', close my file and that I wouldn't receive another call again (Another red flag, because as many people know who have had debt collectors call in the past, they may mark it disputed but they still call back). All in all this is a complete SCAM and please do not fall for it. Question everything. Ask them to send validation through the US Mail, NOT e-mail. Push a little bit and see if they break. Dispute until you know for SURE that it's a real debt.
