I received a letter saying my accounts would be closed in 14 business days, with no explanation, and no access to my funds besides them being sent via check in the mail. Ridiculous, I have been banking here for 10 years with direct deposit and a paid off auto loan.

Yes, you're probably being scammed.  You should take a copy of the letter down to your local branch and discuss it with a bank officer.  If it is fraudulent, take a copy to the local post office and have the postal authorities take a look at it.  This could be mail fraud.

Bank of America is the worse bank in the world they closed my account without notice

I have been trying to file a complaint for 2 days now....I cannot tell you how many different numbers I have tried..I need to talk to someone in the REO dept..Bank of America owns a property in Highland Ny which my clients put a bid on and won.

this has been going since May....The property was auctioned thru Genesis Auctions, now know as Hudson and Marshall, Yesterday I received a call from the Auction stating the bank was pulling out...please understand how upset and disappointed my clients are, and I as their agent want to get to the bottom of this.  All I am asking for is a number of whatever it takes to get to the right dept

I was just informed my account was being closed, what kind of bank are they? You just pick & choose accounts to close with no explanation! BANK OF AMERICA had horrible customer service in this department! I would never refer them!

No the bank does not just pick and choose to close accounts ! If it's a risc closure then your obviously doing something wrong or bad to your account ! It may be for fraud it may be because a previous closed account for a risc to the bank it can be a lot of things but the bank chooses not to provide details because we don't require it and the only reason being is because you may have signed something when you opened the account where it says we don't need to tell you why we choose your account if we need to , this is something that should be read when you open your account come on now you think agreements are just there for no reason ? Your welcome .

I’m 18 and a victim of fraud I lost my card and somebody tried to deposit counterfeit money into my account and when I called and logged into boa they said my account was on its way to being closed without me knowing anything was happening I reported it ASAP , I filed police report and sent letters to Jacksonville Florida boa I did everything right and I’m still going a month later with no current information they keep pushing it back every time I ask for closure date I called everyone risk department, fraud Department, visa I’m a college student I cannot believe this is happening to me

I have never opened an acct at BofA. Came back from vacation, found 3 letters from B of A. 1) Welcome to B of A, undated letter, temporary checks w/ name/address, last page, changed name from "Core Checking" to Advantage Plus Banking. 2) Oct account statement. 3) "After careful review, we have decided to to cancel your account."

Contacted B of A, impossible to talk to anyone unless you have an account. Contacted this #, Immediately asked for my social. Transferred to diff department, same 1st question. Refused to give it, so said I have to get to a branch in person. On question, the #SSN was required to open acct.
This confirms me being in the unfortunate situation of changing my SS#.
