- emhI keep receiving rude calls from SMA Alliance with a request for a faxed copy of a POA for my m-i-l with no details as why. The caller refuses to answer any questions. I have advised them several times that I will not fax a POA to anyone without details as to why. The caller only gets rude and hangs up.

- Thoroughly annoyedI get multiple unwanted calls from them daily. Same complaints as everyone else. I suggest all people getting calls from them to read the first page of comments. Someone posted the information needed to report them to the BBB. Hopefully if enough people report them, we can get them shut down...I don't know how else to stop them!
- StickerAt first call on my cell phone, they asked to speak with my wife about a personal buisness matter. When asked what the matter was regarding to they became hesitant and then asked who I was which had already been established. I knew then it was a hoax call. Now they are leaving messages on my cell phone asking the head of the household to call back. I hope they hold their breath while waiting for the return call.

- JSThis company keeps calling me constantly! They even called an X-sister in law of mine. (THE NERVE!) I did call them back and they told me they were a collection company. Trying to collect a debt that is not mine! I sent them a cease letter and will report them (FMA) To the Federal Trade Commission 877-382-4357. Plus BBB. They are brutal like stalkers! Very un-nerving....

- Hank52 replies to Aztec0316I have had my cell phone number since January 2004, and since a year ago, I have been getting calls from one debt collector after another, sometimes two at a time, for a deadbeat who apparently used to own my cell phone number. These collectors buy up zombie debts for less than a penny to the dollar, and they don't care if they harrass innocent people in the process. They use computer dialing and leave pre-recorded messages. It is cheap and easy for them to do, and if they can collect, they would make a bundle. The more recent collector, among the over a dozen collectors who called my cell phone, is FMA Alliance. In order for your rights to be protected under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), you need to write to each and every collector to tell them to stop calling you.
- TravisI just got my second call from this FMA Alliance company, however, the number appears private on my caller ID. I get the same message for the "adult consumer of the household" as everyone else. They told me to call them back at 877-839-9070. Has anyone been told to call this number back?

- Steven and Cheryl| 2 repliesWe receive calls regularly from a group calling themselves "FMA Alliance". The callers are rude, inappropriately vague, and accuse us of being "dirtbags" and that we do not pay our bills.
The number they call from is 281-670 1527 which is a local Houston phone number.
The callers are abusing the recipients by making inappropriate and unwarranted statements.
We asked the callers to substantiate the debt they attempt to collect by requesting the signed card agreeement. In six months of these calls never once have we received any such signed card agreement.
We have been unabled to substantiate the debt they allege.- Caller: FMA Alliance

- FMAholes| 1 replyI received a call today from this company and tried to tell them that I needed a way to validate 1- the actual debt I supposedly owe and 2-that they are a valid company before I provide a stranger with my checking account number. The woman was beyond rude until I promised her I would give her a call back once I made sure there was a bill outstanding and that she was calling from a valid number. After going online - onto the BBB- the website listed didn't match their company and neither did the the phone numbers I had received calls from or was given to call back. I followed up with FTC who assured me I should have a request in writing- which I had not received. I called FMA back to tell them I was going to await the letter before proceeding with payment and after being sent up to managers - eventually they disconnected the call.
Also- the FTC did log a complaint as this company is in violation by contacting me without first providing me written proof of my debt. Should enough violations be provided- they will be cited with a class action law suit. So- although it may seem like a drop in a bucket to make the call- if they are harassing you it is the only course of action you can take to stop it from happening in the future.- Caller: FMA Alliance

- the collector| 5 repliesYes FMA is a collection agency, however when they are looking for someone they have a search site on the internet that is not illegal... They can and will find you. Of course they may come across some wrong or old numbers time and time but that's where you come into play. It's an automated system that dials out to you and when you pick up the collector may or may not have gotten connected yet. Thay's why you may feel like they call and hang up. As far as them calling your friends, neighbors and realitives; they can do that as long as they only call them once unless the person they call gives them permission to call again. That's why they ask them personal questions about you so they can find you, but they can't say why they are calling (per federal law). Now if you call them back they need the number they call in order to know why the called. If you are the person that they are looking for you need to verify your infomation to find out what they want. Hanging up or not picking up does not help because they will continue to call or not it as a refusal to pay and some creditors DUE SUE, such as chase and others.... So my sugestion would be to addresss the situation. Because when you applied for the credit you willing gave up any and all personal and also aggreed to anything that came with that once it became a debt
- Caller: FMA ALLIANCE LTD
- THE COLLECTOR replies to FMAholesThey can call you once they receive your debt and they have up to 30 days to send out a letter validating the debt. Now if your address has changed and they send out a letter to your old address that's not their fault. Saying that you won't do anything until you get a letter is a stalling tatic, if a person really wanted to handle their debt the honorable way, they would ask to get it via fax or email, it's all the same
- the collector replies to disgustedDo not call list stop calls from telemaketers not debt collection agency
