I was called by 877.278.5268I contacted the Iowa Att.  general and this is the response.: The scam you refer to is generally regarding a payday loan you allegedly received.  The callers generally state they are from a law enforcement sounding company like American Law Division, Legal Affidavit Office, a local law enforcement agency, various law firms or other official sounding agencies. They allege that they loaned you money and if you don't pay them immediately, they will issue a warrant for your arrest, file charges against you, or that you will be served papers and will owe thousands of dollars. They generally ask for payment through money gram or prepaid credit card.
The scammers generally have your personal information such as social security number, bank account information, names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends and your work, cell and home telephone numbers. It is unclear how the scammer obtained this information, but victims generally say they have filled out an online loan application at one time in the past few years.
This is a scam, never give out or confirm any information to the scammer. Attorney General Tom Miller recommends that you put a fraud alert on your credit report, contact your bank, and cancel any payment you might have arranged. Our office also recommends that you report it to the Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.IC3.gov.mailto:419.fed@usss.treas.gov. I was also called by Daniel Watts from(877)278-5268. It was an automated call. I've been getting sometimes 10- 30 calls like this a day. What can I do?

Same thing for me Daniel Watts serving papers......when I try and call back I get ans machine they Never pick up.....you would think if they want something they would answer they give the number to call back on. I think they are idiots

You do nothing. I talked to my state's Attorney General's office and the Fair Trade Commission and The Feferal Trade Commission yesterday.This number has been calling for someone who lived here years ago.I was told without an address they could do nothing except file a complaint.I was told it is a SCAM.Told not to answer the phone.They hope to wear you down and get money from you.Remember this is a scam.If you have caller ID,don't answer the phone and they will eventually stop calling.Call and report them to the Federal Trade Commission or your states Attorney General's office.That's what they are there for.They are happy to help. We had 2 calls today and didn't answer. Turned off my answer machine too. Shouldn't be like this but these creeps will eventually be caught. Good Luck and don't stress,you're not alone.  Betty

all I have read here applies to what we have been going through.The calls are for someone who lived here years ago.I did talk to two representatives,the first said they would remove our number,the second laughed at me.Said he was going to keep calling until this debt was paid.I them got advice from an online  help center.This gentleman knew exactly what was going on and told me to file a complaint which I did.My state's
Attorney General's office and Federal Trade Commission.Shut off the answer machine and had 3 calls today.I was told as long as you answer the phone they will keep calling,hoping to stress you out so much you will pay anything to get rid of them.I hope someone catches these botton feeders soon.

Wow after reading these other posts I am blown away.......I have had several calls from this number 18772785268 saying it's barker and healey but the guy I believed used Mark watts! Saying same thing about serving papers or something which I myself know is [***]! I'm not happy .....I intend on doing something.....

they have been  calling me and  when I try to call back you get put on hold ,then they want you to say the word  YES , I THINK THAT WHAT THEY WANT  YOUR VOICE SAYINY YES  ,ITS A SCAM

I just received the same call that everyone else on this post is receiving.  I'm in Florida.  I will call the FTC and Florida's State's Attorney's office.

I just received a call on my cell for the same firm- I actually work for a real attorney- Dale I. Gustin - who said DO NOT give any info to anyone you dont know over the phone ! If its real they will send a police officer with a warrent for your arrest- do not give any address to these people !

UGH! I just got the "robo call" from a Robert Bates trying to serve me, I called Barker Heeley and Associates too!!!!
I am glad I googled this, I am current on all stuff in my life, all I have is a truck payment! All my divorce credit has been discharged in a BK in 2012 so this is a total scam.
I was freaking out for a minute there!

I received the same messages all others have posted. I havwe also reported to FCC.

I was called by somebody claiming to be Mr. Bates with the same line.  I was told to call 866-322-7498, Barker Healy and Assoc.  I got the same answering service.  Left my name and number, nothing else.  I'm glad to hear others are being harassed the same way, since I was worried about somebody showing up on my doorstep.  I've had payday loans online so I assume that's where they got my name and number, landline and cell.  State's Attorney says these types of scams are very hard to track down, usually off-shore idiots.

Well I freaking got scammed today by these people for over $1000 . I can not believe this would happen to me. How could people do this? They had me so scared! Robert Bates wanted to serve me. Said it was an old payday advance loan. Talking about they are filing felony charges on me. Hell yeah I freaked. She was saying a lot of correct things how did they get this information on me in the first place? Ugh why do people do this to one another. The lady Deb.. was so nice trying to calm me as I was sobering my ass off. People please don't fall for this like I did. So ashamed of myself for being foolish. :-(

You are NOT alone. I fell for the same scam about 3 weeks ago and I am out 2900. They scared me too! They even heard my husband and I fighting about it.... I have no idea how people could have the audacity of  doing this.We are in the process of trying to get our money back, we filed a dispute with the bank and told them the story.
I am so sorry this happened to you and that they continue to do it to people!

I received the same message from "Robert Bates" on July 2.
I called, and the same thing happened.......put on hold.....after a few minutes another message was given asking me to leave my name and number due to busy lines. I hung up.

I got the same call and I have gotten other calls. What can I do to make them stop calling. Please help me

To deal with these scammers simply tell them that when they wake up in the morning and look into the mirror, they know that they are a loser because they are nothing but a scam. Give them the same [***] that they give you. They will tell you something like go to hell and they will hang up. They will quit calling until your number gets drawn again out of their little lottery system that they do. They ARE NOT real investigators, they cannot and will not come get you so feel free to give them as much hell as they give you! Have fun with it!

My father and I were taken for $1200.  I can not find the company.  THEY ARE NO WHERE! If you know anything please leave a message for me.
