- NicMy bf just got this text message and called the number. Thought it was suspicious so he called Chase. Turns out that its a fraud. Now his car got canceled and he needs to wait 10 days for a new one. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR INFO
- BethReceived the same text msg just like Cori. Call Chase bank and the representative said that the 877-293-5089 is not there number. Got so scared since I have an account with them and used to work also for 10 years with this bank and all of a sudden I received this suspicious text. Please be aware don't call this number at all.

- Pat replies to JoeYou called and gave them your account number? If I were you I'd monitor account activity very closely now. Although not sure they can do anything with just the number...
I got the message, then went online to check my account and everything looked OK, so never called the number. - GinnieI also got a similar text message, I don't have any Chase account!

- security expertI got the following text message on my phone:
SMS@chaseonline.chase.com: Message from JP Morgan Chase. Not a sales message. Please call 1.877.293.5089 immediately about recent activity on your account.
I do have a Chase credit card that I use all the time. And this message looks very official, but since I'm a computer security expert, I knew there was no way that I could call that number and know that it's actually Chase without supplying them with some personally identifying information. Instead, I called the number on the back of my card, and Chase verified that they did NOT send me that message. It's a fraudulent credit card phishing scam designed to get your credit card account info.
Never call a number that someone gives you, never give out information to someone that contacts you, reply to a text message or email. The only safe thing to do is call the number on the back of your credit card.- Caller: A fraudulent claim to be Chase

- LionoI got a sms message too just now. I called the Chase Cust service number...NOT the number mentioned in the SMS. Chase confirmed they never sent me a message & that 1-877 -293-5089 was not their number. Please DO NOT respond to that SMS text. It definitely could be a scam of phishing. Beware!

- Caller: Chase?
- LionoBtw, I have t-mobile as well. Is this a scam from T-mobile? I am not really sure.
- Caller: Hackers
- DeezeeI got the message too. All the same info posted above. I put my card and experation date in as requested but hung up when it asked me for my pin. The voice sounds EXTREMELY fishy, like a demon robot rather than the somewhat nice automated voice Chase uses. I called chase and investigated the message, no problems on my account, so no hold. Fortunately I had the new chase card unactivated (I still have the old Wamu card) and I just activated it, shutting down the card that was in question.
Hopefully they cannot do anything without my pin, as they have only the card # and exp. I also have it marked on my account that this happened before anything fraudulent has happened. What Bull$hit!- Caller: Fraudulent Fishers
- dumasAlso t-mobile customer... googled and sure enough a fraud as I surmised. Several of you are very wise to call number from your statement or back of card. Even a ligit notice via home phone seems like a scam. I've gone sofar as to put the ligit numbers on my contact list.
