- AbbottMy wife's newly swapped T-Mobile phone (purchased via her NON-Chase VISA Debit card) displayed the following text message :
"sms@tmomail.net Visa Card alert we recently block your card for security call 1-877-293-5089 to activate it ; and then you are ready to shop"
The text was marked as "6:19 AM" -- whosever Time Zone that is...
Obviously "phishy;" we'll call our T-mobile Customer Service number listed in our T-mobile account statement to report the incident.- Call type: Text message
- orI also got the supposed chase text message and will not call back.
- Caller: claimed to be chase
- HelenConfirmed with the real Chase (by calling the # on my card) that the 877-293-5089 is a fraud "fishing" text to get people to call in and give out their info.
- stupidinSeattleSCAM ALERT: Ok, just recieved SMS on phone from "SMS@chaseonline.chase.com" with phone # 877-293-5089, which I (stupidly) called. An "automated system" told me my account was locked, so enter my card # and PIN to remove the block - which I did. Dawned on me the number did not match number ON my Chase card. I just called Chase, and they said that they DO NOT send SMS messages. They canceled my card, PIN, etc., but that this is SCAM.

Sender: 3777
message: "SMS@Chaseonline.chase.com/ Message from JP Morgan Chase. Not a sales message. Please call 1.877.293.5089 immediately about recent activity on the account. Tha"
Must have been early in the morning or loss of blood to the brain from overexertion from vacuuming my car but I dialed the number. I had also made a large payment from my account and so I thought it was a natural reaction from Chase fraud control. Anyway, I should have know better. When the authoritative male recorded voice asked me to enter my phone number, I got a clue and hung up. Called my Chase bank account rep using the regular number and they said everything was okay with my checking account. This is a great site to alert you to scams!- Caller: claimed to be Chase

- Elizabeth| 1 replyReceived the exact same message. I have t mobile as well. When I called the # I got a message stating "your call could not go through" but it was a very "fake" sounding message, a young boy's voice. I just hung up but I'm hoping I won't get a weird charge for the call or anything on my cell phone bill??
- RussI received the same message and I do have a Chase account. Usually if there is a problem with my account (a questionable charge), a SMS message tells me to check for messages on the secured bank online. I didn't call the number in the SMS message, but instead checked bank online like usual and there is nothing there. No doubt it's a scam...or at least a shady sales call.

- Duong HuynhI got the same message n my T-Mobile though I don't have Chase account. I think that some bad guys convicted identify theft after I submitted me resume on the job search page. This is obviously scam. I hate this and hope this theft must be put in jail.
- TotallyDespiseBadGuysMy phone is TMobile but I have never done any business with Chase; so thankfully I assumed it was a scam. My question is: did these thieving trolls how did they get my cell # and like another person b/f me reported, I did list my # on an online job resume site, so was it taken from there? I'm really irritated that there is not more agressive action to stop these losers and there needs to be serious punishment w/automatic jail time. My husband and I had EVERY detail of our id downloaded, copied & stolen by an executive @ a huge national check verification company. Then the low-life sold copies of it! We are still fighting that id theft & it all took place over 13 days in May 2007...and let me tell you all-for the past 3 yrs id theft has continually & relentlessly robbed us of both time & happiness. You are guilty until you CAN PROVE YOUR INNOCENT. I pray every day for tougher laws and penalties for these criminals, because the "Bad Guys" winning our battle is NOT even an option!
