I got a call fromMark threatening me about a relative. He said could I verify the social number and I refused. He then said an angry customer who don't want to pay. I know that payday loan people from online take their payments out of your account faithfully this is a SCAM because we don't owe anyone!

Calling me to locate my whereabouts and seeking my full SS#. I do not have any past due debts. They threatened me by saying that if I did not give my location they would contact family and friends .on file

NP Group has been calling my phone and leaving threatening voicemails. I only know that they are a debt collector from my online searches. The message says that this is a location and tracing effort on the whereabouts 'my name' with the last four digits of my SS#. They said that they are allowed under law to contact all references in my file including friends and family. It also indicates that it is imperative where I am this person or not to contact them immediately or action will be taken. I called them back twice and they will not give the nature of the call only that they are a third party interest and need my location. They said they would not cease calling me and would start calling my family members if I did not confirm my exact location and give them my social security number. I've checked my credit report and there has been no action from this company. I have no oustanding debts and my loan (car) is current. They operate under ttwo numbers 1) 877.314.3371 or 2) 855.207.6522. Their address: NP Group, 3014 Delaware Ave., Kenmore NY 14217. They are not registered wth the BB Bureau.

I just received a threatening call from these guys. Very rude! the number they called from was (877)314-3371. When I tried to call them back they were even more rude, but the caller did mention NP group but would not state what the business and the call was about. They just said that my number showing up on their caller ID was not in their system and hung up.

Most likely this group of criminals;

Collection agencies are required to be licensed or bonded in many states in order to operate and contact consumers about outstanding debts.  BBB has reached out to this business requesting that they provide proof of licensing and bonding required for operating everywhere they do business. However, they have failed to respond to our inquiries.

BBB wants to make consumers aware that they have legal rights when they are contacted by a collection agency. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) prohibits abusive and harassing behavior by any debt or collection agency, this act is enforced by the Federal Trade Commission, FTC. The act states specific practices and rules under which debt collectors must abide by.  There are penalties for agencies found breaking these laws.  Collection agencies must not use crude or offensive language or identify themselves as anyone other the business name that they are contacting on behalf of.  If a consumer believes a debt or collection agency has violated any of the FDCPA laws the BBB encourages them to file complaints with the BBB at www.bbb.org and Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov.

New Phone  877-314-3371 Exactly the same with me. Called with a recording about a relative and I called back and it says the number has been disconnected. I try a new min later and get NP Group. They won't tell me anything other than it is a debt. When I asked for their address, the guy said, "Why do you need our address?" I said, "To report you!" and he said, "Oh, I will take you off our list!" and he hung up!

It's a scam, they call everyone who has ever applied for a payday loan.  I have several and have had them on and off for years, but not deliquent so they are just trying to scare people and scam them I told them just where to go.

These people stated that I have 5 unknown contracts 4 loans I do not have. These ppl have been calling me for the past 2 or 3 days. I do not know how they got my information

I got a call three days straight and each time I let them know that I'm hip to their game and then hang up on them.

It is a scam.  They get a list of numbers and try to extort with threats and harassment.  They cannot touch you in any legal whatsoever.  However, they will call your relatives or anyone else they can get their hands on from social media accounts.  Oh, and they will call your colleagues at work to embarrass you into paying off these criminals.  Get off the grid and lock down your social media.

The number from NP Group is now 855-218.0772. They stated they were trying to contact someone i know. They also stated they handled a variety of high risk accounts when I asked what this call was regarding. I told them i would advise for the person they were looking for to contact his attorney prior to the call and the reps response was that "you can have him do that, but this is not a legal issue." How can one threaten to sue or take action against someone and it not be a legal issue---- confused!!

This number called me as well about a payday advance loan stating they are the original creditor. I called payday advance directly to ask where they send their collection accounts and it is not NP group. The lady at NP group even went as far as telling me that the original creditor was fake and I should sue them. I should be sueing NP dodge for harassment. Another lady called today still trying to collect money from me I told her I've already paid the original creditor and she started to argue with me. I can't believe these people actually sleep at night knowing they get up every day to go to work and scam people for money. I asked them oriniginally for proof of the debt as well that they never did email over to me obviously because they don't have it. Don't give these people money they may even go as far as knocking money off just to get something from you.

This 0772 number has contacted my folks. I called back and Joe Williams is the one I talked to. He stated that I owe from an online pay loan from 2011 (that of which I have never done). He has the last 4 digits of my s.s. number but the address was not mine not was the bank. However the address was an old address of someone I know along with the bank they used at one time. How could they have that information of the person I know?

Got a call and answered, same story as others above.  False statement about a payday loan from 2012 (don't have one), and the threats.  Spoke to a Mrs. Mobley.

I just received. A call same as you..ask for my where abouts.. No name. I called and asked what the name of the company 2 times.. They hung up on me.. The number they calles me from is 844-442-6688. Im reporting this number...

I have had similar call just this week, from these rude people.  Calling my elderly Mom and scaring her to death.  They threaten to call the police on me.  They used 877-346-5419.  Did not state the company name when called, or their name.  They were very rude and said they had removed my mother from their list and questioned me about my SSN.  They had the wrong ####s.  I did not give them my SSN.  They stated they had the wrong person.  I asked the rude lady who were they and she answered she could not tell me that info and hung up.  I called the BBB and they are a collection agency.

Had a call from these people and was hung up on and called back and they would not give me information unless i have them my ss#. The number is 18444434402 and i not longer want calls from them.

Company calling about a payday loan that was paid, but they turn one loan into 4.

They are now calling on a different number 855-217-4722 and I also spoke with a Justin who also told me I had 2 payday loans out from 2010 for a Bank of America account that we hadn't had since 2005. We've banked with our current account since 2007.
Then was told by Justin that I was lying because I also mentioned the fact that payday loans are illegal in Indiana. So he told me that I was lying because I mentioned that's not our account and also the payday loans online are illegal. Then he hung up on my, I called back, they refused to take my number off the list....so I sent a screen shot to all of my family members and told them to block them.
