Received call trying to locate a family member. Called number back 8662366223 and spoke to super rude guy named Tim and who said he was from NP group trying to locate someone. I asked him who the NP group was got a bs answer. He got pissed off when I wanted the info said he could assume I'm not so and so said he'd remove my number and hung up. If this was real, I think they would try a little harder to give info.

They got me. Threatened to call relatives...the police etc. Told me I would have to pay thousands if I didn't agree to a payment plan. I panicked and gave them my info. The guys name is Mark Bishop

I just got a call and could not understand the name they said, so I stayed on the line to find out who they were looking for...to my surprise, a guy named Timothy, said he was looking for Oliver (my son's name) and all I said was, he's not here but I would like some more information... Timothy's UNPROFESSIONAL response was to hang up on me!!! Really???!!!!....
Thank you so much for this website...For a minute, I was actually worried, till I read about others under this same bogus attack. I hope everyone takes time to actually research this NP Group!! They lie.

They've called me 3 times trying to collect on a payday loan. They were VERY AGGRESSIVE & wouldn't provide any info regarding what account they were collecting for, I called my payday loan company & informed them what's happening. She assured me this is a scam. Their recorded message spoken at start of call SOUNDS SERIOUS - DONT FALL FOR IT!!!!!!!!

They called from 855-203-3771 I called back, NPGroup they said they needed to know my whereabouts, wouldn't tell me what it was about so I hung up.

I got the same call from the same man and he can't provide proof of anything to me either.  Real bread winners let me tell you.  All they managed to do was get my blood pressure up. I am glad i seen all of the comments on this.

I had the same thing happen to me and it was very disturbing the way they threatened me. I asked them to send me the original debt name they refused. I too filed bankruptcy years ago and they are saying the debt wasn't listed on the bankruptcy I said "I know all of it was listed". This Mike guy said I wasn't Calling the shots he was so if I didn't pay i could be arrested. He tried to say that the delinquent debt did not occur until after the discharge of the bankruptcy. So I am still liable for the debt - I said I know what your trying to do your changing the name of the original debtor and dates so that it appears to be a debt after the bankruptcy and they are trying to collect. Got a voice mail stating they need to know my whereabouts and If don't call back they would call other people.  I called back and talked to Rebecca.  She was looking for my son.  I told her I would not give out his number and asked to take a message.
She repeated the number and said she is with NP Group.  She would not give me any more info.
I have been researching NP Group and see all these scam info.  I called her back and told her I know it's a scam and would not ask him to call.  She got irritated and said if you knew what they did that I would understand why everyone was giving them a negative report. She said no one wants to own up to their obligation.    I told her that my son has good credit and has no collections on his report.  She said they were not a collection agency but would not tell me what they did.  Then what are you talking about if no one wants to own up to their obligation if you are not a collection agency.

I have been receiving calls like this for several years.  I have never had a payday loan nor have I ever applied for one.  They ask you to confirm the last 4 of your social, which I said was wrong and they then said they would remove me from their list and hung up.  They've called me from multiple numbers and have called all of my family.  I'm not sure how they got all of their information AND the loan date was from when i was a MINOR.  SCAM!

Just received a call from 866-236-5640 trying to do a locate on my sister-in-law.  The male caller asked me to pass on the number and have her call the NP group regarding an urgent business matter.  He said if she does not call them, they will call other references she had "listed".  I asked him what NP stood for and he said it did not stand for anything, it is just the NP group.

Scam scam scam now they are calling from 844-568-0966 and his name is Joe. They are saying it's a loan from 2011. Fake fake fake.

They called saying they were the np group my son tried talking to them and they told him I don't like your attitude they tried this several months ago we told them we filed with the fcc state attorney and local authorities and if they called again I would due them. They stopped but are calling again told them where to go 8445681033 scam all the way

They have been calling me off and on for a month threatening. They have called my mom as well leaving messages that they need to know my whereabouts. I have only spoken to them once and told them I did not have any pay day loans and that I was contacting my lawyer. They still call a few times a month. The latest calls I have received were from 877-336-4558

I too was called today by the NP Group and they are looking for a nephew. I didn't give them any information though. I'm trying to understand how they connected my name and number to my nephew. My husband has a payday loan but my name and my nephews name isn't associated with it. I'm confused and not sure who I need to report this too. Someone needs to investigate what's going on with this Group. The number they called me from is 855-208-6844.

My husband received a call today from them looking for my relative they said they were NP Group- interesting fact - if you search NP Group it comes up as an employment agency in London. I tried searching for an NP Group Collections and nothing comes up. There is no legitamite company with this name. We of course gave them a hard time and they eventually hung up on my husband. It was kind of comical.

There at it again NP Group guy named Tony saying I have debt from payday loan from 2012, they keep calling its bull crap. I checked and no debt owned totally scam! Scary part they have my information. But I'm reporting them every chance I get.

In any event,

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.
