- XXX NapaGot a notice from them on the door.. Similar to other posters. Live in Napa. Previous owner died. they are clearly a scam company since the guy delivering didn't care.
- Caller: NOT LISTED
- Call type: Unwanted
- Catlady330My mortgage is not late and I rec'd this notice.
- catguy| 1 replyMy mortgage is not late either and received this note as well. I would say this is a scam and it looks like they're going at it again in 2018
- BigA replies to catguyMaybe you should read page 3?
- Tyrone| 11 repliesHad a notice today & called not this number, but the official customer service number for Nationstar dba "Mr. Cooper". The Mr. Cooper customer service guy said my account has always been current, but he did acknowledge they pay scumbags to put notices like these on people's homes. The only issue was that my area had a severe snow storm 6 months ago and was apparently officially flagged as a disaster area. (News to me.) So the customer service guy thought that was it and simply asked if the house had any damage. (It did not.) If that was it, pretty lame way to operate, but then again, Nationstar has always had a dismal reputation as a scumbag mortgage servicer.

- BigA replies to TyroneWhich is why they changed their company name to the idiotic "Mr. Cooper".
- Kat replies to Tyrone| 9 repliesHe acknowledged your account has always been current so why did he say the notice was left?
- MikeHuntleton replies to KatI think they are still scamming people, I found this law suit from Feb this year for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and negligence:
https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/6320661/ ... delaware-mag-2/
"officially flagged as a disaster area" and "simply asked if the house had any damage" sounds like they make claims on behalf of their "victims" homes and get disaster relief funds for themselves. - not behind| 1 replyI am not behind on my mortgage, its auto deducted monthly.. so i think its a scam
- Tyrone replies to Kat| 7 repliesWhat part of "The only issue was that my area had a severe snow storm 6 months ago and was apparently officially flagged as a disaster area." did you not understand? He said that was why - they wanted to know if the house was OK.
- Tyrone replies to not behindIt very well may be. The suit Mike Huntleton cites above concerns reverse mortgages. Could be they are doing the same scam with regular mortgages.
- Tygerkat replies to Tyrone| 6 repliesWhy would possible damage to your house warrant leaving a notice about being behind in your mortgage?
Another thought - if this isn't a scam, why would they pay someone to put these notices on doors instead of simply sticking a stamp on the envelope and sending the notice through the postal service? It'd be way cheaper. - BigA replies to Tygerkat| 3 replies"Other types of mortgage violations could also lead to a foreclosure. For instance, failing to maintain the property in satisfactory condition,"

- BigA replies to Tygerkat| 1 replyHey, I didn't know it either until I looked it up.
- Tygerkat replies to BigA:-)
- Rob replies to ConcernedI wouldn't call that number anyway
