- GinaReceived a notice on the door & then a few days later a third party carrier delivered the same notice. It had this number with the name "Northstar" so I called it.
The recording says "You have reached the Utah Insurance Department fraud division"- Caller: Northstar/Utah Insurance Dept
- Cuddy| 5 repliesI came home from work, found this manila envelope with limited info on it, It was hand written, had today's date, words Important, Please call, Handwritten Nation Star and this phone number, asking to have my acct. number ready, also said "We are expecting my call today" Also says, *Calls are randomly monitored & recorded to ensure quality service.
- Liz2 replies to Cuddy| 4 repliesI recieved the same envelope. THROW IT OUT! As a State employee I am telling you this is ONE MORE style of scheming.....Same jist just different style...IGNORE...No worries......Its plain crap put together by mortgage "buyers"....a/k/a: BS
- Cathy| 2 repliesMy daughter bought a short sale home. She got the keys today and found an envelope on the door saying to call today and have your account number available. Did not give any other information than that. What a crock.
- Andrea FultonI actually caught the guy leaving my house.. He told me that it was from the mortgage company. He doesnt know why they want it delivered .. all he knows is that it could be important or not. But that is what he claimed .. this is the second time I got one .. in an yellow envelope with the name NStar and phone number 877-372-0315 all handwritten .. it is some kind of scam .. He had a smart phone that he was using with my address pulled up on like some kind of app and asked if he could put my information down as the tenant. I told him no .. So i dont know if he is aware of the fact that he is delivering what he thinks he is delivering or if that is just what they tell him. lol either way it is not from our mortgage company.
- Andrea Fulton| 3 repliesAlso what I forgot to say is that he said that he delivers about 60 of these a day in my area and once you start getting them they deliver them about once a month. This is my second one and they were about 3 months apart.
- MF| 6 repliesThese are "mortgage inspections" allegedly done because payment is in delinquency, late, or within the grace period (that many are now starting to consider to be "late.") While the people delivering them should be talking to the mortgage holder, the ay the setup is designed with pay and volume needed, there simply isn't enough time to talk to everyone.
Nationstar may either be the actual mortgage company or likely a servicer of your mortgage. Put it this way: the cards are a method to get you to call. If you are late anyway you likely have been getting hit by calls from them as well. Standard debt collection tactics. If you get these however and know you are current, better check your statements. Often times, payments can be mis-allocated, thus triggering said lateness (whether done by accident or on purpose).- Caller: Nationstar
- Call type: Debt collector
- JSI saw a woman taking pictures of my house from the street. She them proceded to come up to the door and take a close-up pocture. I went outside to see what she wanted and she jumped in her car when I called to her. She was parked in the middle of the street with the car running (licencse plate #HHY5295). When I went back to my house there was a small manilla envelope hanging on the door. On the front it said IMPORTANT INFORMATION ENCLOSED. Inside it says name: NSTAR telephone #:(877) 372-0315. It also says "please be ready to give your account information" and "we are expecting your call today". I threw away the notice and have heard nothing else suspicious since.
- Caller: NSTAR
- Jose GarciaI got the same envelope attached to my door. Limited information enclosed; only the phone number 1-877-372-0315 with a hand written company name Nation Star or something like that. This is a pure scam do not call and do not give any info to them.
- Caller: National Star
- Call type: Prank
- undisclosed| 7 repliesA purple beat up ford taurus with a skin headed kid driving it put an unprofessional envelope in my mail box saying to call nationstar mortgage. and the phone number 877-372-0315 on it. My address was in the upper left corner and hand written. and the letter was folded up to fit in the small envelope. Obviously a scam especially when today is presidents day and everything is closed!!
- Caller: Nationstar Mortgage

Alot of people on her try to scare you stating this is a fraud.. I know I am behind on my payments but wanted to make sure I was calling a correct number...
- Arrangements replies to Andrea Fulton| 2 repliesIT means that you need to contact them and make arrangements on your mortgage.. Then you will stop getting them.. That is what I ended up having to do to get mine to stop.
- Not a Crock replies to Cathy| 1 replyAll this means is that the mortgage company had not procesed all the paperwork on the short sale. The person leaving the card is only doing what the mortgage company tells them to do. She might get one more because it does take time to get everything settled..
- No scam replies to undisclosed| 1 replyHello.. It is not mail.. just documentation asking you to call your mortgage company because you are late on your payments. They work on all holidays because they are subcontractors that with the mortgage company. They are just doing their job by delivering this. So your best bet is to call you mortgage company and take care of your mortgage
- Not a scam replies to Liz2| 3 repliesHello. This is not a scam.. This just means that you need to contact your mortgage company or your landlord. This is information for you to call them.. That is why you are provided with their name and address.. The reason why it says have information ready because they are not going to just talk to anyone about your personal information on your loan.
- Annoyed replies to No scamYou're right, it's NOT mail. Therefore it is illegal to the flyer in a person's mailbox.
- CLUELESS| 3 repliesI CAME HOME TODAY TO FIND A SMALL MANILA ENVELOPE ON MY DOOR. INSIDE IT HAD -
A PIECE OF MANILA COLORED PAPER THAT HAD TYPED WORDS STATING
1. "TEAR HERE AND INSERT CARD INTO ENVELOPE" - I HAVE NO CLUE IF THIS WAS MEANT TO THE TWIT WHO PUT THE NOTICE ON MY DOOR - OR FOR ME - BUT THERE WAS NO CARD INSIDE THE ENVELOPE AND THE REAL BONA - WAS THE PAPER SAID TEAR HERE - WTF - IS THAT LIKE ALICE IN WONDERLAND - EAT ME CAKES
2. ON THE PAPER AS WELL - HAD WRITTEN "N STAR" AND "877-372-0315" - NOT KNOWING WHO/WHAT "N STAR" IS - I GOOGLED "N STAR" AND "877-372-0315"

4. "877-372-0315" = BROUGHT ME HERE
5. IN ADDITION - ON THE PIECE OF PAPER IT STATED - "PLEASE BE READY TO GIVE YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER"
THERE WAS NO ACCOUNT NUMBER ON THE CRAP PIECE OF PAPER
THERE WAS NO COMPANY NAME OTHER THAN "N STAR" - I AM CLUELESS- Caller: N STAR
- They work Holidays replies to undisclosed| 3 repliesThese people are sub contractors.. They are given a list of addresses and which bank to give as the envelop. This is not a scam.. This is a way your mortgage company is wanting you to contact them. Or to keep letting you know that you are late on your payments. If you look at your Note of your mortgage it will tell you that the Mortgage company will make their presence if you are late on your payments. Back to them dropping this off on a holiday, they are just doing their job. They are not evicting you, not giving out your business.. Just dropping off the envelop it is up to you to call. Pay your payment and guess what they will stop coming by.
- Nstar replies to CLUELESS| 2 repliesNstar means Nationstar. They are a mortgage company. If this is not your mortgage company then call your mortgage company because if could mean it was sold to Nationstar. They ask for an account number so everyone will not call and get your information.
