Scam claiming to be Chase.  I called the Chase # on the back of my card rather than this number and Chase said there hasn't been any declined activity or fraud detected.   This phone number is not Chase.

Same info as other people:  called by 312-325-3558, then 877-382-8854.  It's not Chase

Received a "Chase" letter, asking for "additional information" and to call this number. Called, asked them how I know they are Chase. They advised to call 800 number on back of Chase card, ask THEM if its legit! Did that, they said its NOT legit!
Some suspicions about the letter: all black and white, while usually Chase letters use a blue logo...and the letter came from a PO Box. Otherwise letter looked real.
Reading through threads here, found one entry that insisted this is a legit number! Scary to know that the scammers even read these threads and try to further confuse the situation.

Also noting in thread here that some think just because the scammer told them where the closest branch was, that this must make the number legit.
The truth is that the scammer doesn't want to get caught, and they're willing to "give up" on some, hoping to convince more that they're legit.
You just have to be wary and always do your homework. Go to a local branch or only give info to people at a number you know for sure are legit....like a number printed on the back of your card.

Got an e-mail first, then a couple physical letters explaining I need to call this number to update some info on my account (personal checking and savings) or it would be closed. I contacted my chase branch and an official national 800 number for Chase and they could not see any notices on my account. I don't know how they have the last 4 digits of each account, but the physical mail referenced it--the e-mail did not.

Did not actually receive a call from this number, but received a letter requesting me to call Chase Bank at this number to update information.  It looked suspicious since the logo was black and not the blue that Chase uses on their letterhead.  It also had a suspicious P. O. Box return address.  The letter seemed rather threatening that my accounts would be closed if I didn’t do this by 12/6/18. That just didn’t seem like something Chase would do. I called my local Chase Bank and they verified that the letter was legitimate and I had better get this resolved quickly as to not have my accounts closed.  The government regulations have been getting tighter and tighter on banks is what is happening.  Sure, I agree with others that I would not trust talking to anyone calling me for information from this number because anyone can scam this phone number onto caller ID.  Soooo I would advise everyone to personally go to their local Chase Bank and resolve it in person.

So why are you here? And why did you mark your call type as "scam suspicion" when you claim the number is legitimate?

I received a letter in the mail from Chase requesting additional information about my business. I was suspicious about it but talked to both a Chase customer service rep and my local branch rep and both assured me it was legitimate. They basically had a few questions they needed answered about the type of business and type of customers I have. I feel much better after being nervous it was a scam. The woman who I dealt with on the phone call wasn't very helpful or really very pleasant at all, so that concerned me. Turns out it was just another unhappy Chase employee!

I got a letter from Chase with this callback number. I gave them my info and later began wondering if it could be a scam. I called Chase credit card who put me on to the fraud dept. They gave me the same number to call about my issue.  So I am thinking it is a genuine Chase number

I received a generic letter twice requesting information to my business acct.
I did call the number on the letter first- 877-383-8854. It sounded like an out of country call center and I really didn't feel comfortable giving out my personal information. The person kindly said I can walk into my branch or call the phone number on the back of my business checkcard.
I did call the phone number on the back of my business debit card to speak to a representative. He was able to look at my account and read a note that the branch needed me to go in with my I.D.
It really is difficult to know whether something is legit or not. I ignored the letters because I thought they were scams. Luckily I did make the call. Without my I.D., my business account would have been locked out. I am not saying this the case for all letters. It is my personal experience and I wanted to share it. Thank you

This # sounds legit when you call it but it's not. I received a paper in the mail fdom " Chase ".. It had my correct last four of my account.  Called the number, waited on hold, they asked for name then account # or social security number.. Chase won't ask for social security number. It's a scam.

This is phishing. I called chase by accessing the correct number on the chase website. This was a scam. Chase told me that there was no inquiry about my account and to ignore it. They also sent us an email but the email address from which they sent it appeared to be chase but it was not. It was chase@e.chase.com.  This is not chase

Received a letter with this number. Letter stated they needed more info but nothing more. When I called I got a busy signal. Then called number on card and they confirmed letter was real. Transferred to the compliance department who asked a question. Problem solved.I dont like letters like this as the letter did not actually ask me to call, it said they would call me which is always going to be suspect. So call them on your own.

Just called CHASE.  While the 877# is Chase, the letter is fake. If your letter does not specify any account info (besides your name) or what it is regarding to, then it is a fake.
