Wow!!!! This bank gave you a "litter"!  Puppies or Kittens?  How could you not trust a bank that gives you a "litter"?

Aw! None of the banks around here give away litters of kittens or puppies.

I called chase's number directly about this letter I received with this phone number on it and they said it was legit.

This phone number was legitimate in my recent contact of Chase. I was sent an email asking to call them urgently based on an account I had opened six months ago. They needed to verify some business details about this account. I was asked for my account number initially but when I told them I was hesitant to provide that info based on an urgent email they forwarded me to a specialization department. I was disconnected from the call and ended up calling the customer service number from the Chase website and was patched into the same specialized department after navigating their phone tree and speaking with general customer service. They verified that the phone number I'd received via email was their legitimate number for this verification service. I suggested that they may want to revisit their email as it came across very "spammy" and did not inspire a sense of confidence.

I got almost scammed with same method.

I go a message when logged into my chase account that they needed additional information about my accounts transitioning from "First Republics" which is a recent bank acquired by chase, it listed this phone 877-382-8854 to call however I called chase bank to the known numbers, spend an hour talking to 3 different level of Repts and they were all lost!
apparently accounts being merged and they are contacting all types of customers even the ones not affiliated with "First Republic" in the first place which is wrong and makes you freak out .
so monitor your accounts thats the best you can do

Fraud - don't fall for it!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently opened a business checking account and received an email today, and a text to call 877-382-8854, or to visit a Chase branch because more information was needed about my account.  If I didn't contact them, the email said that my account may be closed in 2 weeks.  I work in Cybersecurity and Insider Threat for a gov't agency so I was very cautious.  I checked the header on the email and it was a true Chase email address, so I felt like it was legit but still didn't trust it.  I called the business account phone number that my customer service representative gave me after I opened the account at 800-242-7338 and explained that I got an email I was unsure about and asked what information was needed.  That representative verified my identity and then asked what the number was and they looked it up on their end and stated that the 8854 number was the compliance department and it was safe to call.  I called the 8854 number, expressed my hesitation to interact with them, and they were able to check the status of why they were reaching out to me without me revealing my SSN.  I feel that this is a safe number but that email and text felt like it wasn't legit to me.  Always do your due diligence and call the Chase number that you know is a good number (either on your account paperwork of the back of your card) before calling a number that isn't familiar.

what are you talking about? chase doesn't have 877 on any of the cards. its all 800

Received a text message "We need more information about you" To avoid disruption of your account please call us at 877-382-8854 or visit a branch by <restriction date>".  I called that nmber and got a lady with a foreign accent and told her I think this is a scam.  Then I called Chase customer service number and was told that Chase phone number 877-382-8854 is not affiliated with Chase.
