- KTG replies to Rubin BriggsTo Anyone having this issue involving this tricky scam. I am dealing with it too.
If you are receiving charges for these services on your cell phone bills, simply call customer service of your mobile carrier and they will place a perm. block on your account to prevent any future charges.
2nd, Call these Scamers to get your money back...Especially if they have sent texts to a cell phone accessed by a minor in your family. It's ilegal in everyway but the law is clear as day when it comes to soliciting a child under the age of 18 and more importantly, it's illegal to enter in to a binding contract with a child.
If you can get them to talk toy ou with out hanging up on you, you should get your money back. If they don't respond to me (after hanging up on me) I'm going to the police to report fraud and more importantly inapproprite solicitation, including "Adult content" to my child who they began "texting" and entered her in to a $20 monthly contract since early 2009 when she was 11 years old. - KtgI live in the Tampabay area of Florida. If anyone is interested in going after them as a group, I will set it up. We likely have 3 legal options and "Non Locals may be able to participate in the legal avenues as well"
1st. We file a fraud claim with our local jurisdictions together.
2nd- Since the scam is crossing state lines, we can probably get together as a team with the Federal Fraud/Internet Fraud enforcement agency.
3rd. Those of us who have children being locked in to contracts and/or have received this "Premium Text Plan" Scam in the form of adult oriented texts, there may be a separate Law Enforcement agency who would address those texts as Child Abuse for being XXX content.
4th. While I HATE "sue happy people", there may be a great class action lawsuit here. I have access to some incredible Attorney's. Realize, we won't see much if any money at all, but our Attorney would make money off this company and the objective is to win a judgement that financially wipes these crooks out.
E Mail me if you are genuinely interested. It's probably near impossible to stop this company from continuing to victimize scores of others, but as an "army" we have the power to bring them down and hold them accountable.

- Tim replies to HelperI too had charges from Solow Auction. They targeted my minor son through a text using our Sprint number. I have in the past been able to have a sales representative from Sprint locate the company and number of these "premium text message" companies to discontinue the "service", but Sprint was unable to resolve the charges from Solow Auction.
Thanks for the special phone number 877-373-6363 you provided. I called the number responded to the prompts and waited about a minute, much faster response then when calling any cell phone company, and talked to a representative who asked for the phone number involved. The representative, D.J. Williams, asked for an address that a refund could be sent to and said the service would be discontinued. He stated I could expect a check within 2-3 weeks. Will be waiting for that check to arrive. - Kathy Klaggedo not ever call my phone again!! and do not charge my phone!!

- HELPED BY HELPER! replies to HelperThank you for your informative posting about the Solow (SO-LOW) company!
I am now SO-HIGH because I followed your posted instructions TO THE LETTER! However, when I called 1-877-373-6363, I chose my carrier (as prompted), and THEN hit zero (0) instead of THEIR prompted selection, after which a "HUMAN" answered the phone.
I chose to state UP FRONT the following, per your instructions to avoid any interactive conversation with the customer service representative:
#1 - I'm Going To Contact The State Attorney General,
#2 - I'll Be Filing A Fraud Charge With The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Through Sprint, AND
#3 - I'm Retaining An Attorney To Take You (Solow) To Small Claims Court.
It worked! I was also immediately placed on hold! When the representative came back onto the line, she informed me that I would be receiving a check in the amount of $109.89 in two (2) to three (3) weeks, thereby refunding ELEVEN (11) months of charges to my Sprint bill! ELEVEN MONTHS!
I had been unable to get any viable information leading me to this result until I ran across your blog posting! Thank you SOOOOOOOO much! I wanted you to know that you have helped someone (ME) by sharing your experience!
It is a low-down, dirty shame when a person who works so hard for their money has to work hard again to chase it down in effort to get it back from the clutches of a company such as this! I am excited and hopeful that others will come across these postings as they search for a way to recover that, which is rightfully theirs!
THANK YOU AGAIN!

P.S. This is a reminder for ALL to check their cell-phone bills CAREFULLY. This is what the line item on my bill appeared as from this company...SendMe Mobile: Alerts - Solow Auction -1/03...........$9.99. If you see this it means your bill is connected to the automatic billing process. Don't ignore it! It could cost you HUNDREDS of ($$) dollars ($$) FOR NOTHING! - HELPED BY HELPER!I followed the instructions I found in an informative blog-posting about the Solow (SO-LOW) company!

I stated very firmly UP FRONT, the following, to AVOID any interactive conversation with a customer service representative:
“Your company has been charging my cell-phone bill $9.99 every month for almost one (1) year and I want EVERY PENNY of my money back! I don’t know how you got my number and I don’t care! I don’t know who you are, I have NEVER asked you for anything, and you have NEVER given me anything. You have billed me and been paid via my phone billing process, for months, FOR NOTHING! The next thing I want to hear from you is HOW you will be reimbursing me ALL of my money or I will be forced BY YOU to #1 - Contact The State Attorney General, #2 - File A Fraud Charge With The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Through My Cell-Phone Carrier, AND #3 – Retain An Attorney To Take You (Solow) To Small Claims Court.
I was immediately placed on hold! - SuzetteI kept getting unwanted text from this number. pls make it stop.
- Luciano replies to MichelleI just got the same story. They told me that I will receive a courtesy refund of $9.99 instead of the $29.97 in fees that they took. I told them it was unacceptable and that if they don't issue me a full refund, they would receive a courtesy call from the FTC, FCC, and Attorney General's office inquiring into fraud allegations. They agreed to give me a full refund, which I'll allegedly receive in 3 weeks. My question to you is did you ever receive your refund as promised?
