- WolfmanJack replies to Wow| 1 replyPart of what you have posted is true, part is wrong, and some of it has important items left out.
"For those that say "I don't have debt", all I can say is, somebody opened something in your name and now Midland owns it." Not necessarily since this criminals are known to simply call everyone with the same name in an attempt to collect money.
"If they don't own a debt, or it's not yours, contact a lawyer. Midland has plenty of lawyers and they know this business inside and out. They don't care if it's real or not, the phone banks just keep dialing. And they will keep dialing."
A consumers best friend is to know their rights. while it might be true that this company has lawyers, the employees simply are told not to care and get the money anyway they can because they get paid on commission. they must however abide by the FDCPA and either validate the debt or cease and desit calling upon written instruction from the consumer. so the best thing would be to first read up on your rights here before running to a lawyer: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
follow the instructions there and if necessary file complaints as well as keep accurate records so that when you do have to go to the lawyer you actually have a winnable case. - turk replies to WolfmanJackI like to piss them off, just say hello hello a few times on my answering machine.
- SissyI want these people to quit calling here then the phone hanging up. I owe no debt and do not appreciate this. I called them and this dude says they won't call back after 24 hours. I told him that was unacceptable I wanted the calls stopped as of this minute. He said they're "automatic callers" and he can't get it stopped that quick. Have no expectations the calls will stop as I've done this before and it didn't stop the calls.

- Miss Jackson If You're NastyThey are idiots. They continue to call my phone even after I tell them they have the wrong number.
I don't know the people they're looking for; never heard of them before, they have no connection to me whatsoever.
They continue to call. They may stop for a while and then start all over again, each time telling me "This call is being recorded for accuracy". Obviously they don't do squat with the recordings because I tell them every, damn, single time that they have the wrong freakin' number.

- Tn Nana| 1 replyThese ignoranous jerks called me on Sunday afternoon. Can you believe this? The government "DO NOT CALL LIST" is government joke. I want to swear at them, but Holy Lord it was Sunday.
- Caller: Do Not Know
- Tamianth replies to Tn NanaThe DNC does not cover debt collections. DNC is for telemarketers. Debt Collections fall under the FDCPA laws.

This app will identify spam calling and send them to a false response stating your number has been disconnected or is no longer in service. I have used it for years and love it.

- BpThe number has a lot of business. Seems to be pestering a lot of people. Blocked.
- someone who gets the same call replies to No debtorI have been checking on google to find out different types of call I have been receiving, and some of the responses says that a person can buy an apt and prank call you, they can use any name number and even make it look like it is coming from your neighbor or even yourself. if they know you screen your calls they will do this to get you to pick up the phone. One man complain that it was his ex doing this and causing trouble. It can be done through gmail accts and cell phones when texting. when you text a landline an auto mated voice comes on and they leave a message that they want only the person to receive. They can pretend to be anyone they want you to think they are. It could be your anyone

- Common senseAllot of so called "collections" calls are coming from India. This happens call your phone company and report you are being harassed by people at this number and want it blocked. I got the same thing happening to me and I have no debt. They as usual called me a liar. I told them not to call me and I was told if I did not pay they would have me arrested. I told them they just committed felony extortion. They laughed and I told them not to call me anyone and they stated so what are you going to do about it?
I told them this call has been recorded and I am and did file a police report for harassment. The calls stopped.- Call type: Debt collector
- deairisdont call just collect your money in any way you can the calls are annoying.
- Caller: T-Mobile

- MarvinI downloaded a free app called Call Control. It is for my android phone and all I see is a message saying "Call Blocked" and the number. Once in a while something that hasn't been reported gets through but a quick trip through the 'block call - recent calls' settings and it's back to bliss. It will also look up a blocked call for you to tell you who it was. I'm in love. :)
