- Gman| 1 replyIf you went to a book store and bough anything since the first of the year, and you were offered free magazines on a trial period, you probably didn't know it, but you agreed to pay full price for said magazines when the trial period ended. I just called this number and the person said they had no record of the transaction. Headed to the bank now to file a fraud complaint.
If they have your number, you will probably need to get another card!- Caller: TWX

- KP| 1 replyThis literally JUST happened to me.
I remember getting the "free trial offer," I do NOT remember being told that I would be charged. I was also unable to give the cashier at Books-A-Million "no" for an answer.
I called the TWX Magazine company (800-586-5092) first thing Monday morning, after my bank had sent me a text message telling me about the charges. I was charged $12.00, $14.50 and $24.50. After a while, it became clear to me what happened and I told the woman that I did NOT want these magazines anymore and I DID want all of my money back. She told me that I should have received confirmation in the mail about how I was going to start being charged for the magazine... never got it. She did end up reversing the charges, and gave me a confirmation number and encouraged me to call back if the money had not posted to my bank account in a few days.
I'm more concerned with how it seems BAM gave away my card information...- Caller: TWX Magazine

- T*ANN| 1 replyYUPPP samething here. Went to Books A Million in dec or jan can't remember. But I agreed to get a "FREE" trail of 3 magazines of my choice. I was told I would be sent 2 statements through the mail that would allow me to either keep the magazines coming(which would obviously charge my account) or to cancel them all together. As you probably guessed I never recieved any notice of cancellation what so ever. Then I seen where my account has been charged $58.00 for just ONE subscription! PLease if you really do not want the magazines or the hassle DO NOT agree to a "FREE" trial!!!!!
- Stephanie| 2 repliesAll you have to do is call the number and cancel your subscription, if they keep their word I'll get my $24.50 back in about two days. It is a machine talking make sure you listen carefully, she attempts to trick you into paying for what you have already purchased and canceling future charges.

- AlixeI got two charges from TWXMAG on a day I didn't buy anything! My charges were $62 and $32!!WTF what magazine would ever cost this?!How did they get my card?
- Steve| 1 replyI went to Books A Million back in Feb and signed up for their millionaire rewards card and the cashier asked me about free trial subscriptions. I told him that I did not want any type of magazine subscription, not interested. Not long after I start receiving magazines that I have no interest in, In May I get three different charges for these magazines. It turns out that the Books A Million employee that signed me up also went ahead and signed me up for the magazine subscriptions. I spoke with company associated with the charges and they said that I should have received notices in the mail regarding a cancelation. I explained to him that I wasn't looking to something I wasn't expected. He then told me that he would reverse the charges. A month later and the charges have not been reversed. I spoke with the BAM store and all I had to say was. " I'm calling about charges for magazine subscriptions." The BAM rep that took my call immediately told me all about how that employee that signed me up did the same thing to a lot of other people. She said that they would take care of the charges. I will wait and see how this goes.

- Ani replies to SteveI have the same problem, can you give me the number that you called???
- shahram replies to Tidalsalam goli
- Rachel| 2 repliesyea, i literally just got off the phone with them. I signed up for three free magazine subscriptions at Books-a-Million and was in no way made aware that I would have to eventually pay for my free trial. Nor that they would be sharing my credit card information, so I was shocked when I saw the charges on my account. But, when calling it was incredibly irritating at first because it is all automated and there was no option to be transferred to an operator, so I basically just had to keep mis-answering until it sent me to one. But once I was connected with an actual person she cancelled my "subscriptions" and refunded me in less than two minutes.
