How about you sue them yourself and get a big check?  But you can always wait for another 5 to 10 years for a tiny check.  Which one do you think would be the better idea, big check within a year or tiny check in 5 to 10 years?

Received several calls from different phone numbers to my fax machine number at home. The only way this company would have that number is if I listed it as a contact phone for anything I ordered on line. My guess is, this company pays other on line businesses for a list of customer contanct phone numbers. So if you order something on line that's shipping from overseas or you're not familiar with the business name, give them a fax number for contacting you. The call wont go through and you wont hear from any of their phone lines again.

A young sounding man asked for my grandfather by his full name.  First, my grandfather died at the age of 62, in 1962.  Second, I never lived with him, as my mom & dad had moved more than 1200 miles from him before I was born.  I told the guy that grandpa was deceased and he told me I needed to provide a death certificate.  I told him impossible, because grandpa died in 1962, when I was only 7 years old, and both my parents, plus aunts and uncles are all deceased.  If he wants a death certificate, he can request it from a record clerk in the city where grandpa lived at the time of his death.  So then the guy asks me my name, address, birth date, and social security number.  I told him to shove it.  He told me I was lying, that I was the person he was looking for and claiming it was my deceased grandfather, and that the police would be on their way to arrest me within the next 5 minutes (REALLY?!  I'm shaking in my boots you young [***]).  I hung up and blocked the number.  But now I see from all these reports that they have multiple numbers, so I won't anymore answer calls from any number I don't know.  I have no idea what's going on with my grandpa's name, but it's definitely a scam being perpetrated by someone.  With all these negative reports, this company has to be breaking many laws.

Interesting how you read all of these reports yet don't know the name of the debt collector or what to do about the calls.  How did that happen?

Extremely rude man with almost undecipherable India accent. Yelled at me and told me I was a deadbeat, police on the way unless I agreed to pay back $9000+ on a credit card default. I have no credit cards in default. One MC that I charge only gasoline & routine auto maintenance and pay off in full when the bill comes, and currently has only $48 balance on it, bill due to be paid on Feb 16. One Visa that I use only for things like buying airline tickets to visit family every other year, or replacing my home a/c system 5 years ago. That one has a zero balance since Dec 2018 (just received the bill 2 weeks ago that says $0.00 due). Checked my credit rept after the call & it's still as good as before. No collections, no late payments. Score still in the 700s. This must be a scam.

He said MCM.  Others who left complaints said Midland, Midland Credit, Midland Credit Management and a couple other names.  I am 65 years old and not into doing all this computer research.  My granddaughter told me to look up the number online so I did, and this is the first link to check.  If you know how to make this stop, why not tell me instead of trying to make me look stupid so you can look smart?

I think that is what he was trying to tell you, just read what others have posted and you can find out about who it might be and what you can do about it. People who seriously want to know, don't just simply post a "story" and hope to be spoon fed, they read. Its the fakers who post in increments to get a troll sized spoon fed attention meal.

RT and Roger T...hmmm, only 5 mins apart.... that isn't too obvious now is it?

You need to be spoon fed.  Got it!  Okay, in addition to what I have already posted on page 1 (no I am not going to repost it again, you will simply have to take the time to read it), I am going to post this (hopefully you are going to read this).  Also, don't use age as a defense.  I am older then you and I went to the trouble of learning what to do so that I don't get scammed.

You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Scam! They call pretending to be a debt collection company. They are engaged in identity theft and trying to take money by getting credit card and/or bank account information to defraud people under the guise of repaying loans that were not paid.

They call me at least once a week from various phone numbers which includes this one.  I am current on my payments and my credit report indicates my accounts are in good standing.  No letters have been mailed claiming I am in collections status or owe back payments.  A log of their calls and associated phone numbers are being kept.

I don’t see any recent calls, however I got one about 5 minutes ago, he didn’t identify himself, just kept yelling hey there and words I didn’t know were english or other, it wasn’t Spanish and then he’d say hey there again, finally hung up.  The number is all that shows up on the caller ID.

What makes you think that you actually have to have bad debts for a debt collector to call you?
