Thank you Cara - I got one of those letters saying I needed insurance for an exterior water service line - I don't think it even applies to me - I have well water...........I would think they could better use their time to fix other problems in the world. :-)

This HomeServe doesn't want to quit I see. They (along with Aqua Water Co.) send me letters every month, sometimes twice a month about this. I've already told them I am not interested.

So this new number called ID as 'unavailable' and see this.

These people can kiss my you know what.  Wow, it's amazing...the one thing I do not miss with the power outage here just north of Philly is I had one full work week off with NO harassing non-stop robo-calls.

I received the form in the mail and thought it was too good to be true. My wife suggested checking it out on the web.
Nothing good is said about this company.
We live in Iowa, so it looks like they are scamming the entire USA.

    Just another senior
I have been getting letters and phone calls  for over 2 months, little over a year ago  I did pay for this service (not thinking and knowing any better)  scared me thinking about the cost if a water line broke  well to make a long story short, about a week after I paid for a year I received a bill saying I had till a certain date to pay the rest,, They had another amount that was at least double..  needless to say that's what started me thinking something wasn't right..  since then the letters have not stopped  and the phone calls recently started, at least 2 or 3 a day...The letters come from different states  today's came from Lancaster PA, the phone # was different also  In reading some of your letters  I see that HomeServe is all over....
Just wanted to get my saying in, and also want to say I agree with those who say beware..

Received the same thing in the mail.  Company called Homeserve in Detroit MI.  Odd that the area I live in has no city water.  All we have here are wells...A BIG DUH FOR THEM.  Phone # on the contract is:
877-444-7750.   Guessing a scam.....Or not bright enough to do their homework before sending out their garbage.

This Homeserve business is a scam targeting elderly folks, they should be put out of business by the Michigan Attorney Generals Office.  According to the BBB site here in Michigan they have received 270 complaints in the last three years and 161 just in the last alone.  They have also had to pay some very high dollar fines from the court system.

I received the same letter in the mail as others have mentioned.  This came from PO BOX 873 in Northbrook IL.
Their phone is 877 444 7750-If you do sign up, don't use the credit/debit card and don't use E-Z pay.  They have an "auto-renew" clause which means you'll still be paying after you're dead.

Obviously many who have posted in reply to a call from 877-444-7750 have no knowledge of what they are talking.  This is an accredited company used by city water companies in many states to provide coverage for breaks in various sections of water and/or sewage lines. It is an insurance policy with definite limits but if you need the services provided you will get immediate service at no cost to you beyond what is added to your monthly water and sewage bill.  This is a win-win situation for you and the water company -- and of course the Home Service Company which is providing the insurance coverage. It is like any other insurance, life, house, car, medical, etc.  You hope you never need it but if you do you are glad to have paid out a few dollars monthly for what would have cost thousands, in some cases. if you had no coverage.
Why did I take time to write this reply?  Do I have any of the insurance coverage?  Yes, I have coverage and I'm tired of reading negative "stuff" that one could be sued for if they were brave enough to give their name, address and phone number. How would you like to be wrongfully accused of misrepresenting yourself as an escapee from a mental asylumn?  Some of the comments sound like they were written by a person who has missed a few dosages of their medicine.
