Got a call that sounds like the same from everyone else, hold placed on my account, etc. I don't have an account with them so this has to be bogus.

Thanks to everyone here who let me know this is a scam.  I didn't answer the phone, will try to block it.

Same call here...bank name is somewhat garbled ( on purpose?!)... Sounded to me like "MMT" bank or could have been M & T, but I doubt it. Not the first time this has happened. My wife also received same call a few hours ago.

I just got it while I was out walking. It went through the whole BS Debit card thing 2 times and then hung up. Just thought I'd listen and see what it had to say or if anyone picked up. Was gonna tell them BS...because I don't have anything with M&T anyway.

We received a call from this number saying they were from the fraud dept of the bank for our card and that the card may have been used fraudulently. We were given this number to call back. Instead we called the bank and were advised that the caller is a scam. Be careful folks!

I don't have a debit card at M&T bank, so this is clearly an attempt to scam.
With all the communications monitoring technology available to the NSA and other government agencies, we should be able to locate the source of these annoying calls. Then we should locate the office of the boss and send in a drone.

Also received a robo call message on my cell phone re: hold on M&T debit card. Did additional online research & found that 716 local number they provided for callback is at an M&T Bank ATM location. Bank is aware of the scam and has since shut down that number. It is reported that these scam calls are actually coming from outside the United States; do not provide ANY debit card info to these creeps and do not attempt to call them back.

Called M&T and they verified it's a fraud.

Same thing here...computer voice hard to hear clearly...I don't have an M&T bank account so I knew this had to be a error or scam...SCAM it is thanks to everyone else posting comments!

Just got a call from this number.  Did not call back.  The message was very general about a problem with our account.  I do not have an account with M&T bank.  Very suspicious.

I received two calls from "bank fraud department".  I do not have an account with this bank.

Like others here, rec'd a VM to my cell #, which I have never given to M&T bank. My accounts are fine. Do not give anyone at this number your sensitive information.

I just received a call from this number and do not have and M&T account plus there is not a branch near me(but my message said NBT bank and suspicious activity on my account, just checked my account and nothing out of the ordinary

Glad I checked this out....same thing happened to me just now, had a voice mail saying possible hold on my debit account. I called the number back out of curiosity, of course I didn't hit any buttons or put in any card number (I never have had an account with M&T in my life anyway).

I just got a call from this number, stating that I had suspicious account activity on an M&T account, when I don't even use M&T bank. BEWARE!!

Just got a call on my cell voice mail. Something about my M&T (I thought they said MTV)  account begin monitored.

Telemarketer robocall: "your card is on hold please cali us immediately".. yeah right.. another telemarketer scam
