I attempted to call Lowe's inreference to a warranty problem, my call was deverted to some telemarketing company and I thought they were connected to Lowe's. By the time i figured what was happening it was to late. They started talking about Wal-Mart gift card for a $100.00. Seem good, gave them my CC and attempted to cancel. Thought it was handled, a month later a person on the line calls and rambles on, in aggressive manner and rude, sound hindu and states your order has been approved. I hang up check my account and find out that a $1.00 has been posted by a Value core vision GRP. The number that called is 1-815-687-8017.  Its a scam.  I had to change my CC. Talked to the Bank they say wait until the amount has been posted then it can be dispute and i can get my money back. I learned my lesson

I tried to call Travelers insurance and was hijacked to the scam artist!!!!
Thinking I was talking to Travelers I gave them my cc #, they had my name and address!
When I called Travelers and told about the scam, the agent initiated a conference call to the phone # I had been given. The name Shawn Davis came up. Needless to say, Travellers was just as stunned as I was that there phone system had been infiltrated.
I immediately cancelled my cc and learned my lesson.

I called United Airlines to talk about getting a refund on a cancelled flight from a hurricane. I was transferred to someone with a thick Indian accent who was going to offer a 100$ Visa gift card but I had to pay for a 3.95 activation fee. I gave them my debit information because it seemed legitimate that the company would reimburse me for a cancelled flight. They just had to transfer me to a supervisor for everything to go through, but then he started offering me moisturizer cream and a brochure with the products they offered and it raised a red flag. I asked politely if this were United Airlines and he kept avoiding the question, and when I asked for a supervisor and his name he became very very irate and ended up hanging up on me. I checked my bank account and had a pending charge of $1.00 from Core Vision Group in Pinella's Park. I am in the process of cancelling my CC and talking to United Airlines about the situation.

The way you get your money back is you call your bank and report the charges to account as fraudulent charges. Your bank will investigate the charges, reimburse your account for up to three months of the past payments & will insert them as a fraudulent company.

I too was diverted when trying to call Optum Health. $ dollar gift card promised...then all kinds of other stuff. The person putting me through this process was rude to say the least. I knew it was fraud while going through the process. Hung up and called my bank, cancelled my card. I was hoping to be able to alert my bank to the fraud.
Really frightening that calling an insurance company would divert my call to a fraudulent scam in a middle eastern company.
The contact information I got was that the company is CV redemption: that is how I got to this site! another diversion!! I had to call the customer service number I was finally given at the very end of the conversation. Customer service number I called and spoke to a person by the name of James (in India I think) was 1-855-815-7509. I was told to wait two days before I could cancel so the transaction could process.
The stinky thing for me know is they have my address, phone number etc. I suppose this means my identity is at risk...
    Anyone else?

I am so glad i found this site because all of these experiences are similar to mines. They are such convincing lairs and i thought i knew better. But the man had a thick indian accent and when i had doubts i should have hung up but he transferred me to his manager "Nancy" and she was like no why eles would we even except gift cards. I feel so bad and dumb now i have to go through the hassle of changing cards because the majority of my money is directly deposit and i don't need any one stealing my hard earned money.  Its bad enough they took the 1 dollar out. And they also asked me to say yes though out the questions but assured me that i was not gonna be charged. Uhhhg lord help me. Hope tgis can help someone else tho and that these people get caught. They said they were from pheonix AR
