Called and left a message saying I had won a Caribbean Cruise and round trip airfare to my destination.

Called and left a message on cell phone, stated that it was American West and that someone had entered a drawing last year and they were calling to let them know they won.  They didn't leave a contact name or the name of the person who supposedly won, that's fishy to me.  Supposedly, the prize was a Carnival Cruise (7 days), and roundtrip airfare for two to whatever destination we chose.  Of course they can only hold onto it for 24 hours...lol.

Company called my cell phone, stated I won 2 seven day cruises on Carnival Cruises, PLUS 2 roundtrip airfare tickets to the departure port of my choice.   No info on reverse phone look up...made me suspicious and looked up additional info which led me to this site.   Don't fall for these scams !!

Hey I won a cruise...wooo hooo, I called them back to inform them that they had been chosen for a lotto prize valued at  up to $4,000,000 in the Bahamas... The sales gal for America West was shocked, and she was even more surprised when I informed her  that it would only cost her a $100 fee to get the tracking number for her check..she gave me her American Express card number, anybody else want it??

Called my husbands phone last night stating he had won an all expense paid Carnival Cruise and free airfare.  Called the number just to see what "scam" they were trying and the requirements to win were ridiculous!  Well, anyways...what a scam!

They left a message on my cell stating I had won some contest a family member had entered me in...yet didn't even use my name! Offered me a 7 night cruise to Mexico, Alaska, or the Caribbean for free, plus airfare. OBVIOUSLY A SCAM!!!  Please warn your friends and family about these shady people!!

My son just received a call from this number stating that he won a 7 day Carnival Cruise, to any destination of his choice. It said that he filled out a contest form a year ago. He originally thought it was our cruise line calling, since we just scheduled our cruise, thinking it had something to do with that.
These telemarkenting calls drive me crazy! Some poor helpless, lonely person is going to think this is for real, and get totally scammed! Thank goodness for this site, so we can always check these phone numbers

Got a call yesterday at work so I didn't answer. I listened to the voicemail and was told my name was pulled in a drawing and I received an all expense paid Carnival cruise for 2 for 8 days and 7 nights. Cruises from SD, Seattle, Texas, any port where Carnival departs. Also said they would throw in the roundtrip airfare to get me to the port. Said I had 24 hours to claim my prize. Wish it was really true. (I could use a vacation).

Just listened to a VM from "Ann Callahan" from the "Promotional Dept of America West", at about 6pm PST, 2/24/11, on my cell phone.  Said same stuff as the other bloggers here... regarding the free cruise and airfare.   Figured it was a scam.  If it sounds too good to be true....99.9999% of the time it is!   I haven't called back.

Recorded message by "Ann Callahan" working for America West.  Same thing that I won a trip for two on Carnival Cruises.  Good thing I checked the number online.  Didn't call.

BOGUS!  I also received a voicemail on my cell from "Anne Callahan" with America West saying that a family member had filled out an entry form last year & that I had won 2-free boarding passes to a Carnival Cruise to the Caribbean for 7 nights & 8 days leaving from Baltimore, MD.  The message did not mention me by name and when the call came in it was "UNRESTRICTED".  The message instructed me to call back, (888) 755-5915 and that I had 24 hours to respond.  I called the number & got another recording from "Anne Callahan" saying the 2-free boarding passes included, cabin, on-board activities, entertainment and meals. It said I would be responsible for what's not included with the "free" boarding passes such as, alcohol, processing fees (undisclosed), and sales taxes.  Finally, the recorded message stated that whoever had "submitted an entry form" on my behalf stated that I was married or a part of a couple and in order to redeem the boarding passes, I would have to prove this fact and that our combined income per year was above $60,000 per year. BOGUS!

wow! you guys won this drawing too? this company must have a lot of money to burn to be able to send all of us on this cruise. just got this voicemail. first half cut off. so for those who weren't sure, yes, it IS a recording. anywho, my phantom husband and i will be looking forward to meeting all the winners of the phantom drawing to this phantom cruise.

I got this message too from the same lady. I called back and got the same prerecorded message... vacation for 2... bring your spouse... yadda yadda yadda. What is not mentioned in any of these posts is that they want you to sit through a 90 min presentation about their company. I'm not buying this. Too fishy.

Also got this call but from 877-431-1999 but found this site by entering "cruise ship offer scam".  Details were all the same except for only offered a 4 day cruise.

Ann's called me 4 times now, they really want me to go on this cruise.... :/  wish I really could go on a cruise....

Now are we sure it is a scam or just a hard sales call.  I listened to the message.  They want us to come to a meeting (the 90 minute sales pitch) and then pick up my tickets for the cruise.  So, if I go to the meeting and listen... would I really get the tickets?  the meeting is tonight in Georgetown DC... heck, I can sit through 90 minutes of hard sell... I'm too broke to do anything but nod my head and say... intersting.  
Has anyone gone the next step to actually attend the meeting???

They left pre-recorded voicemail on my cell phone, "Dallas Larson from the Promotional Department of AWA," telling me to call this number to claim my prize: 7 night 8 day cruise through either Royal Carribean or Carnival Cruise lines (either Port Canaveral or Miami) with free round trip airfare for two people.  I called the number with my google phone number (so as to not give them my number again) and it led to a recording which you can 1) sign up to go to a meeting nearby or 2) go on a do not call list.  After pressing 1 to hear more they provided the location: Grand Bear Vacation Club, 2643 North Illinois Route 178, Utica IL, 61374.  They also provided two meeting times: 5:45pm and 7:45pm; I was unable to select which one I wanted to go to nor enter my name for anything.

Sounds fishy considering they don't mention my name, the drawing that it was from, the actual name of the company (just AWA), nor any website or a personal call where I can get more information.

Received a Similar call. But they had the number set to private. Said it was from The Grand Bear Vacation Club. Saying I won an all expense paid 8 day 7 night trip on Royal Caribbean or Carnival To rather Miami or Port Canaveral. I listened further and they told us exactly where to go. The location is not more than 20 miles from my house so I might just drive down there to talk to these people. Before you go and critique me, just know that I am not ACCEPTING this as legit, but I AM keeping an pen mind. They did everything but swear to god that I would get this. They promised and swore and said 100% Guarantee that I would leave the meeting with the package of my choice. I have the conversation recorded. So, I will go down there and talk to them and if they don't give it to me 100% free. Just gotta show up and talk to them. If they don't, guess what? Law Suit time! So either way its a win win. Just keep smart about things like this, listen carefully to EVERY word they say and record it. Most phones have the ability to record convos now a days. I'll post how it turns out.

Just got the call to meet in Georgetown to get a 7-day cruise... Notice they said "100% guarantee", not "100% free". Pay attention people! Don't give out any of your personal information, even your name, to these people.

Just got a call from a "Restricted" number to go to Sterling, VA to pick up my tickets. The thing that made this tricky was that part of the incentive offer for re-signing up for my lease early at my apartment was, in fact, an entry into a cruise give-away drawing, so of course I was raring to go. I only looked it up once I confirmed with the leasing office that they had not, in fact, entered any names into the drawing yet. Thank God for the internet; saved me a five-hour round trip for nothing.
