Check your credit reports for recent inquiries.

Look for any credit pulls under the Corona scam names, like PMG, HGG, ARM, AF Group, etc.
Also look for any recent "promotional" inquiries that show a credit reporting agency sold a lead list.  Look for names that do not appear to be known banks or lenders.

I'm wondering if anyone's actually been served.  I've told these people to stop calling my work yet they keep calling after I told them the debt does not belong to me.  The last message I received was from one their representatives saying they were going to serve me in my place of work.

I was recently called by an unknown # with unknown name from a man who claimed to have legal papers to serve to a person I do not know. I was instructed to call the 877 number posted in this thread. I was also given a case number to reference in order to verify my identity so that my telephone number would be taken off the case. I asked the caller to verify the number he was calling. He recited my number back to me. When asked to repeat the name of the person he was looking for he went silent and then hung up.
I reported the information I was given to my State Attorney General, and would suggest anyone receiving any such call do the same. This seems to be an identity theft scam. the link below is the National Association of Attorneys General.

This number called my mother's next door neighbor who lives 800 miles aaway from where I am and said that they were gonna send a summons to her house within 3 hours. my mother called me and gave me the information. I called them and they said that I owed 4200 on a 700 loan that was taken out in 2005. I know it wasnt me because I was in the hospital on the daates he provided. I also noticed that if they were gonna truly summons me then they would know EXACTLY where I live now and not send it to my MY MOTHER"S NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR. I will be sending this number as well as the recorded conversation we had to the authorities!!!

They called and said they were coming to serve a summons to someone who doesn't live here and we don't even know who this person is.

They're bottom feeders trying to collect debts that are too old to take to court.  The original creditor has written off these accounts and these scummy bottom feeders purchase the debts for pennies on the dollar.  Anything they collect is there's to keep.

They illegally represent that they are officers of the court and the standard line is such and such has 2 hours to call them.  They will call anyone you know.  They'll call your grandmother and even your minor children and try and scare them.  How this gets them the $ they want is beyond me.

Here's what you should do.  Answer the phone and tell them you're recording the conversation.  One of 3 things will happen depending on the attorney general complaints they've received that day.  
1.  Usually the "receptionist" will say that you can't record the conversation without them agreeing to it.  This is not the case in every state.  Regardless, they've been warned so tell them tough noogies and you're recording it anyway.  And do it!  You need to advise them so you don't have charges filed against you like these pond scum suckers.
2.  Once you say you're recording it, there's a huge possibility they'll hang up.  Pond scum suckers don't have brains.  That's why they work there.
3.  One minute they'll be calling you crazy, a deadbeat, why don't you kill youself, etc.  The next minute when you say you're recording the call, they'll turn their green pond scum sucking heads and act like they don't know why you're calling.

These are old debts.  No one is going to serve you papers.  You owe them nothing.  Make them send you a detailed accounting of what they're trying to collect.  You'll find the statute of limitations ran out at the turn of the last century.  They won't spend a dime on a process server to collect something they have no way in hell of collecting.  And be warned.  Your name will come back to the top of the pile in a couple years.

Check your credit report after you get the information on your debt.  You won't find it on your credit report because it's ancient history.  And, you might find you even paid it or were already garnished for it.   They'll try and collect it anyway because they're....well, you know the drill.

These losers called me and gave me the 3 hr window to get home to receive my summons. my husband was all ready to pay, but I really have no idea if I truly owed them anything, as it was from 2001. They said my statute did not expire as I have a "inquiry" on my credit report from 2007. Funny thing is, my credit report doesn't have any of this info on it...Sorry Charlie, you didn't win with your threats of jail, court, suing me anything, and your out of 750.00 buckeroos!! haha!! and will NEVER receive my hard earned money!!!

This number is a SCAM! They want your money, they scare you and make you think you owe money on a credit card etc. Do not believe these people, do not be scared, report them!!

how are you going to jail for your debt?? come on now, do you know how ridiculous you sound....just call them and find out what the hell it is regarding...they obviously have your info for a reason, right??? typical person not wanting to own up to their responsibilities.....DONT HATE THE COLLECTOR!

I'm gonna laugh when you get your summons and you are sued by them! They do sue people and you will go to court if you choose not to take care of it out of court...

These are not old debts....I'm going to laugh when you get served and you are sued by them. They do have attys and they will sue you! Good luck in court...

These psychotic people called my EX-HUSBAND'S LIVE-IN GIRLFRIEND'S elderly parents house asking for me and .said they want to come by their home to have them sign some legal document for me.  When my ex told me this I was floored! These poor people (live-in girlfriends parents) only know of me because of the association with my ex. I am going to look into filing a class action suit against these people.  I will have an investigator use their own game against them.  They have messed with the wrong person.

You are so on point.  When I called and spoke to this company (global something?) and told them it is illegal to do what they did based on privacy laws and their illegal practice of collecting a debt.  The girl I spoke to said "okay, I'll talk to you later". I'm thinking CLASS ACTION SUIT guys and gals...Just sayin'!!
