I called back 2 times and when I asked why they wre calling they hung up on me.

I didn't know who this number was until I looked here, if it is indeed GMAC, then fine, we have business dealings with them, however, when I get a call at 9:00PM CST (against the TCPA) and hold on the line for over 5 minutes, and then some pineapple sounding [***] asks for my wife, and I ask who they are, and for whom they work with, and they refuse, stating they will call back (not identifying yourself or whom you represent after being asked by a consumer, also against the TCPA) I get a little steamed.  TO GMAC, if you want to do business have plain english speaking people call, not outsource to some 3rd world rice paddy.  There are rules and regulations to be followed, and I'd have happily worked with or make some arrangement, as I have with them before, however, every bit of this phone call went against the normal operating procedures we're used to when dealing with your company.  This guy didn't even leave a callback number, his name, or who he represented, a callback number or anything, he did however tell me that it was in regards to an account that I am not on, which is also a violation.

This must certainly be NOT GMAC...I have had difficulties with my car payments with GMAC and their collections department is located in NORTH CAROLINA!!!!!!!  They NEVER asked for my soc. # unless I called them, when they left a number, NAME, and extension to call.  YOU'RE A FRAUD AND I'M CALLING YOU OUT!!!  GMAC collections have a definite southern USA accent!

My aunt is getting calls from this number more than once a day.  She is a bedridden full time resident in a nursing home and has a cell phone for emergencies only.  How can I stop these calls to her cell phone?

I keep getting this calls i freaked out when i received the Invoice in the mail, how is it possible to have them stop calling i already threaten the lady with a lawsuit on having my information she stayed quiet and hanged up.

Even after talking to someone, agreeing to a payment plan (I'm *ONE* payment behind and agreed to add half a payment to my next 2 payments to get caught up), and AFTER I sent them a letter to memorialize the agreement, they still harass my phone 5-6-7 times a day from 8 in the morning until 9 at night.  Very unprofessional.  The car also sucks.  I have a recall on it for possibly having the power steering fail without warning.. BUT.. they don't even have a part to fix it.  Talk about peace of mind!!  Never deal with GM (the corp bailed out by daddy sam), never deal with GMAC and never deal with their "Ally" shoot-off.

If someone doesn't have an account, and give you their name and you still ask for their SSN you are making yourself appear fraudulent. If the caller's name and the phone number that your company called isn't enough then you need a different way of doing your business. There is no way anyone should ever give out their SSN, even to you!  And SHAME on GMAC for send American jobs overseas!

Messages ask if a certain person resides at the number and leave a number to call.  You call the number and it gives a few options.  When you hit the number indicating the person they want doesn't live there, they ask you to hold the line for an operator.  So far noone has answered.

I have recieved numerous calls myself. I have recieved notice in the mail that it is GMAC That is now ALLY. If your late with a payment they will call you. If your early with payment who cares. More jobs sent overseas.

maybe am i bit late in replying to your comment. just want to let you know that being in a third world country is not a crime, neither a choice. i strongly suggest you STOP MAKING COMMENTS OUT OF THIS ISSUE. BTW, you can call yourself a RACIST.

My husband has a GMAC account we have occationally forgotten to make a payment but they have always been very professional and told me on whos behalf they where calling for. As this number called they DID NOT provide the info who they were calling for. Our phone told me it was a 800-international # and the caller (Paul) kept replying it was a private business matter for my husband and was almost rude since I refused to give him  any kind of info if he could not tell what company he was working for. That is so poor ethics I truly hope this is not the way GMAC works or maybe it has all changes now since they are under ALLY...

These people call early Sunday morning, and want to verify you social security #.

Do not call my number again. I will turn this number over to the Better Business Bureau.

I have filed a complaint with the FTC about these calls. Will you please stop these calls because I have a call forward phone and I am being charged for them.

Contact your state's attorney general's office or state office of consumer affairs by email or letter; give details.  GMAC can be held liable for harassing phone calls under state and federal laws.  Your state offices can and will investigate the companies however they must have information from consumers to act.

GMAC does not help you dissolve anything. I total my truck, got a new one. my insurance paid off my old one. BUT YET GMAC ALIAS (ALLY) is still bugging me for the last pymt of my truck which should have been included in the pay-off amount??????????????????????

Calls me in early morn. I work nite so I am still sleeping and don't leave a message. My voice box said no message no return call. Stop calling me.They call anywhere from 3 to 5 times a day.

First off G-Willie, if you were GMAC you would identify yourself as so on the recording.  Secondly I WORK FOR GMAC FINANCIAL AND WE NEVER AS FOR A MEMBER SSN!  I checked our collections unit and we do not use any company called ALLY FINANCIAL for collection and secondly we would send out a WRITTEN NOTIFICATION of any debt that a member may owe!  I have filed a report with the BBB and the District Attorney's office and encourage all others who are having this issue to do the same...good luck getting out of this one!
