- Kerry replies to gmac collections deptI am just wondering why I get calls from this number literally 15 times a day starting one day after my payment date.....I have always been told that you have 10 days after your payment date before you are considered late, but I start getting calls from day one and it isn't just a call or two it is actually 15 times a day and there is rarely a message left for me, that is why people get so pissed and think it is a fraudulent number or a scam and they don't want to give information. It is very unprofessional.
- janMake them hire people who speak ENGLISH WHAT A WASTE OF TIME.!!!!!! ALSO GET THEIR FACTS STRAIGHT AND READ PEVIOUS NOTES. BEFORE THEY HARRASS ME WITH THEIR BAD ENGLISH?

- dtrufHD you are an IDIOT! GMAC is now Ally...wanna see my billing statement?! They do place calls from this number also. I have gotten written notification as well, but I'm guessing that if they get no response then they start calling. Good luck getting anything from your reports, because you are wrong!

- LCI don't have an account with this company, but they keep calling my cell phone. I just called the number and talked to "Jason," who said "Ally Financial." I verified his name and then asked him to repeat the name of the company. He hung up on me. Doesn't sound like an above-board operation to me. I called back and got "Shane," who also answered, "Ally Financial." I asked her to repeat it and I spelled A-l-l-y and asked her if that was correct. She said yes. I told her I was getting annoying phone calls on my cell phone and told her I wanted it to stop. She asked if I had an account with them--I said no. She asked for my number and said she'd turn it over to their "calling department" to have it taken off, erased. She didn't ask for my name. We'll see if the calls stop. If I don't post here again, it will have worked.
- Caller: Ally Financial
- MikePRight on Kerry. I have also been contacted the day after my payment was due. It was a person speaking broken english. They are actually Ally Financial and when they bought out GMAC they adopted Ally collection practices which is to hound people until they succumb to the intense pressure. In doing this they have actually created a terrible name for themselves which is causing people to avoid financing with them. Since taking over GMAC their stock has dropped over 27% which I don't know if anyone has noticed but they now have gone back to using the name GMAC. So don't be fooled people. When they say it's "GMAC" it is still ALLY FINANCIAL. Thank god I only have 4 more payments and I'm done with these clowns. I will never work with a company again that ships American jobs overseas. And that people is why we Americans are in the shape were in today. Because of companies like this.
- Caller: Ally Financial "aka GMAC"
- Call type: Debt collector
- MikeP replies to JDLet me be the first to call [***]. Why be a pathological liar. If you worked for "GMAC" then you would be the first to know that as part of GM's bailout package that they had to sell the financing part of the business and as of August 23 2010 they officially became Ally Financial until they're collection practices have tainted the Ally name and for collection purposes they have gone back to throwing the "GMAC" name around again trying to get people comfortable with a name they know. So if I were you JD and my paychecks still say GMAC on them I would be a little worried because you may not have had a job since August of 2010. Some people amaze me as to why would you even claim to work for a company that has caused the loss of thousands of American jobs to companies overseas. Please next time you lie about the company you work for, please research it a little better so you don't make yourself look like an idiot!!!
- Joanne FreshourI received a call from this number on my cell phone. I signed up not to have vendors call my number. I would like to report this number. Thanks Joanne Freshour My cell phone number is 319-389-8083. I do not have any outstanding bills so if this is a debt collector company they have the wrong number.

- BUDMANACTUALLY, ALLY BOUGHT GMAC ACCOUNTS AND IS A LEGIT COLLECTIONS DEPARTMENT SO MY ADVICE TO YOU IS IF YOU DONT FEEL COMFY WITH THEM CALLING YOU, GET THE NUMBER AND CALL THEM BACK YOURSELF. https://www.ally.com/login/auto/?message=auto-account
- Caller: ALLY/GMAC
- Call type: Debt collector
- PeterFolks, Ally Financial IS a legitimate business. Also, just because you didn't buy a car doesn't mean you have not done business with them, because Ally Financial handles accounts from GMAC, Nuvell Credit Company, National Auto Finance Company and American Suzuki Financial Services (this information taken directly from their website). I believe they may also have their own financial services, although I'm not positive about that.
Also, people reporting that no message, or a cut-off message is all that's left, it's probably because of your answering machine/voicemail. I think their automated system begins playing a recorded message the moment the phone is answered, which means it may have already ended by the time your machine actually starts recording.
I have dealt with them and found that they will usually be quite professional if you are polite with them. Sometimes you get a jerk, that happens anywhere, but keep in mind that they are usually dealing with people who are trying to skip out on thousands (sometimes tens of thousands) of dollars of legitmate debt ... and these are people who will often try to claim the person doesn't live there, etc.
Oh, and before anyone asks, NO, I am not employed by them, I am a legitimate customer who has, occasionally, been late with a payment and received a call to get caught back up again.- Call type: Debt collector
- UNWAIVED replies to gmac collections deptIF YOU ARE FROM GMAC COLLECTIONS AND YOU ARE CALLING ME YOU SHOULD ALREADY HAVE MY INFORMATION INFRONT OF YOU.
- Micky DI get about 8 calls a day from Ally. NO voicemail message, and it never comes up Ally. All they need to do is be professional and have someone leave a professional message instead of a hang-up. No wonder everyone is freaking out, I feel like I am being stalked by some freak who has an eight hundred number

- wallflower1received several calls from this number. It shows on my caller id as unknown and they don't leave a message. I went on this site to see who these calls are coming from and looks like GMAC. We have nothing with GMAC and if I recall correctly - they no longer exist. Allied or something like that took over GMAC so this has to be some sort of scam.
- Caller: unknown - just the phone number
- cyntaur| 1 replyI don't even know what the heck GMAC is. But I keep getting calls from this number. I usually don't answer, and get a 3 second voicemail of nothing. I just answered one such call and heard NOTHING from the other end.
Like I said, I don't know what GMAC is, and I don't really care. It can't possibly be any kind of legitimate collections agency calling, because there is no way they would have my cell number.
Obnoxious. - WHATEVERI am receiving these calls and I have never had an account with GMAC or Ally. And I do pay my bills so I don't get calls from any bill collectors.
I have talked to them and told them to remove the number, but they don't stop. And I have been hung up on several times when calling back or just trying to answer the phone.
Totally think this is some how a scam. A legitimate company wouldn't act like this.- Caller: Ally
- Julie replies to JDGMAC is absolutely now called ALLY financial. I always get calls from them even on the day my payment is due...and I don't get a notice in the mail until they say they're going to take 'drastic action'. it's a [***] company. Finance your cars elsewhere people!
