Received two call from this number: 877-559-9865.  Pretty much the same automated message "...cannot leave proprietary information on the phone yada yada..."  I called back and got voicemail for Imperial.
The name used during the message is Brutus Cleveland.  That's a good one!

"Hello...This is Brutus Cleveland (sounds like a porn name) and I have conflicting information regarding someone you know... Blah Blah Blah

I just got the same message as everyone else, except my guys name was Gunner and I was given an extension.  THe call came from a local number but I was given 877-559-9865 to call back.

Same as above -- Donovan and Brutus and another man, vaguely convincing, but not quite.  Five calls within 3 weeks.

Well same # but now he's using the name "

Same message you all get....." I have a file on my desk with conflicting information about someone YOU KNOW!

My elderly mother lives in my home and the phone is in her name bc I was at work when we opened the number so she made the arrangements.

I felt like they found out it was an old lady's number and are trying to get to her by scaring her.

Now I read that its a scam an you all are getting the same message with different aliases.

If it contuinues I'll get "creative" hehehe

Not to discredit your post, but I was the one that collected all of those numbers in that list except for the last number. The rest belong to another company called Regions Assets (in the same line of business) but this is for a different company called JNR out of Florida. As far as the growing list for this company, it's:

Got a call today from some jerk.  Caller ID showed a local number.  I didn't answer.  I called back later and got a recording that said: This is Valentine & Cobart.  Our office is closed.  Our office hours are *********** Eastern Daylight Time.  The local number the call came from is a West Coast number.  Maybe a good loud referee whisle would work.  I don't have any debt so why are they calling me?

We keep getting calls as well but now his name is Mitch.

It is amazing reading through these.  It takes the same form.. a called "Doug" saying he has a file of confidential info about someone we know.   My wife thought it was about our daughter and was going to call back.. I said lets check it out.. if they knew someone we knew... they could talk about it .. it is some sort of scam for sure.   I had my wife (who has a golden heart and wants to believe everyone is good)
read these postings and she was amazed.

I received a call from a "Doug" person today, saying the same scripted phrases. Googled the number on my caller ID and came up with many pages saying the same kind of things that I see here. Ol' Dougie was quite secretive, and that Texas accent sounded so fake. I know my accounts like the back of my hand and nothing would warrant contact of this type. Not returning the call.

If you're on a cell phone using Android, you can download a free app called "super call blocker" to block all numbers starting with 877.  I only just started using it so I don't know how well it works, but hopefully it'll do the trick.  Hope this helps!

Sounded like a garbled recorded message but had today's date ..From a fellow named James having a file on his desk he needs to clear -up  and to call by 5pm..

I have had this same scripted message from other numbers saying the same things and not revealing the company's name  or the reason for calls.. just a file on their desk...

I've been getting the exact same message for quite a while now and have never picked up.  They called twice today, so I called the FTC, like someone suggested earlier. That call felt pretty worthless and since I'd never picked up or called them back before, they said they couldn't really do anything (although they gave me reference number).  So, I called the number to see what kind of info I could gather about them.  There was some strange, automated voice forwarding message, then I was connected to some guy who said he was part of some Crime Watch something or other.  He first verified the # I was calling from, then asked if I knew a [insert most outrageous African name you've ever heard].  I laughed and said no, then he asked me if there was any reason this person would give my phone number as a contact - I said no again.  Then he just said, "Ok, we'll file this as a wrong number."  End of conversation.

Hopefully that's the end of the calls.

This company has been calling my house weekly for the last few months. I have already told them the person they are looking for does not live here, yet they continue to call, so I never answer the phone. I have read a lot of comments about this and wanted to add my 2c. even though I know it's not nec.
I have seen where this company is threatening Jail time for people? This is a load. America does not have a 'debtors prison,' so anyone who is threatened with this line, needs to educate themselves on the laws. Once you have done so, throw them in his face if you answer or return their call. Then report this company. As I do believe they were sued not too long ago, for attempting to collect debts with out a license. They then changed their name (to one very similar to a REAL debt collection company) and are once again operating illegally as a debt collector. REPORT THEM... I did.

877... Eric Fitzgerald, same MO... a file here... about someone you know... i'll be in the office... Even if you're home and pick up, it's invariably a recording, different names... Bogart--I think I remember that one... shameless!

Now they have several different voices instead of just the one "old west"-sounding guy who used to just change his name...

i got a phone call from them today it came up on my caller id as avalon #429-5414 they were calling for my husband but he was at work so i said this is his wife can i help you.Bruce holiday tells me that he has a bill that my husband is refusing to pay he tells me its for a bank accout that was over drawn and closed in 2008 and ive been with my husband for 7 years and hes never had a bank accout with US bank so thats what i told bruce but he said well not that you know of and i said no i know hes never had one he again tells me not that you know of that went on for a few minutes then i said what are you trying to say it sounds like your saying that my husband is a liar he said he didnt say that put i told him he implied that so we went back and forth for a few mintues i asked whats the full name that he has because i know my husband he gives me the wrong middle name i told him thats not my husband and then he argues with me some more he also gives me the last four didgets of a ss# so i said i think his ss# card is in his wallet he doesnt take it to work he says is that so he cant buy any girls a drink on his way home.THAT WAS OUT OF LINE. i couldnt find his ss# so he gave me a number to call back which was 877-559-9865
so by now im pissed so im looking everywhere for that number cant find it then i remember taxe forms so with his ss# that dosent match what BRUSE gave my i call back and they tell me that he could have gotten a id with whatever name he wanted and he could have opened an accout with whatever name  he wanted. These people have no idea what theyare talking about dont waste your time
