this number called my home asking for a relative.... when i called back they said i needed that relative to call them about a case number! if they call do not call back and block there numbers!!!

This company had my name and a phone number that belonged to my partner.  My partner has had this phone number since 2004 and I am not even listed on this phone number.  They were looking for some woman with the last name of Smith (couldn't have come up with a more original name could they).  Didn't know this person and told them so.  They said they would take phone number out of their system.  Called them back to find out how they got this number and they basically told me that the number had been taken out of their system and that they needed to take then next call and hung up.

I got this message yesterday...

"Hi, This message is for xxx. If you are not xxx.  Please hang up or disconnect.  My name is Kevin Johnson from Genesee Valley associates.  Please return my call. So, 1 (877) 563-1691 and when calling back, please refer to reference number xxx-xxxx.  This is an attempt to collect the debt, any information obtained will be used for that purpose.  Thank you."

This is a new and unlisted number which is not released to anyone.  I use my cell phone for anything important.  The person they are looking for has no relation to this number.  This looks like harassment to me and I am not going to call them back.

In looking over the Internet, I have found that this firm buys old credit card debt for penneys and can be ruthless in trying to collect it.  Stay clear of them...

Hi, just got a call from the 8775631691, I did not ans, they left a message saying that it is in reference to a kathleen Mitchell or hum, did not call back, I do not know any one by that name, darn scam!

Brook Thomas  from GVA left a message for me using my ex's name and a file #. Glad I Googled before I returned her call! (Divorced for twenty years, you would think they would call more recent ex wife two or three instead.....they are REALLY digging for this scam!

They've been calling me for days, even changed the number after the fifth call to see if I'd pick up. I knew something was up because "Brooke Thomas" sounded like an automated machine, and they were asking for my mother. Glad I searched!

GVA has been leaving messages with my brother, my parents and the wife of my x husband. I have called them numerous times asking they stop calling them and if they want to speak to me, to call me. They called them all again after that. I talked to a Maria Boyd and i told her they are a scam and to stop calling my family and friends because if they want me, GVA should call me. Maria Boyd said i was a scam and should pay my debt for my discover card.... funny.. i have NEVER had a discover card, she said "oh yes you have" and my responce was "no i have not.". After she yelled at me and said they were filling a lawsuit, i said again, stop calling my family and i hung up. If GVA really did want to get in touch with me about any debt i have had, then they should be calling me or sending me a letter but nope, i have never received anything. Dont let them bully you or your family.

some idiot from 585-273-6402 has been calling my inlaws my ex-wife from 12 years ago etc. I never listed any of these people as references and they have no business callingthese people

asked for my dad to call back 877-563-1691 and to refer to a file #2286887 in regards to a Karen Hefcox, my dad is 80 yrs old does not live at my home or use my phone and we do not know this person

This person called me asking about someone else but it had a 2 in front of all the numbers not a 1.

Got a call from them and didn't answer the phone since I didn't recognize the number.  They left a message for me (calling me by my name) in reference to a Janesca Smith.  I have no idea who this person is nor how they got the number they called me on.  This number is a house number that belongs to my partner that I never give out to anyone.  I called them back and of course no one was available and to leave my name, phone number and the file case number.  I left them my name and file case number and told them that they had my number already.  I also told them that I didn't know this person and not to call me again.  If they do, I will let them know directly that I will get a lawyer and file harassment charges against them.
