Thanks everyone for posting your comments!  I got the same message and couldn't imagine what in the world it could have been about.  I never put the garbled messages and this rude message together until reading all your comments.  Glad to see people come together to warn others of scammers!!

What can we do about this calls

My husband and I recieved a call from this number which was VERY threatening and unnerving saying action will be taken if we do not respond.  Please do something about this.  They call and leave a message and ask us to call back asking for a "Stan Low".

This man that goes by Stan Low or Lowe has called us for a few weeks and finally left a vaguely threatening message on our answering machine.  We are in a fortunate position to have very few outstanding debts, just house and car.  We are current with both.  Make him go away

called the number back this morning and some man answerd iasked  who  stan low is and he said he was  his assisstant told him igot call from him after i told him that he hung up on me but i called back and a woman answerd and i asked what that place is and she said she was looking for lewis  then i started yelling at her and said they better not call my number again and then i hung up.  afterthat i  called the attorney general office filed complaint and gave them the number they are going to send me aform to fill out they said investigate it.        i;m still pissed off .

I got the same message as everyone else is indicating above and it was very threatening to say the least..the person I was to call back was Mr. Stanley!  I picked up that this was some kind of scam because I had Verizon run a history on this # and it had never come through to my number prior to 11/7 although the message said they'd tried "numerous times".  I'm having Verizon block this from future calls coming in, all others should do the same.

Me too - thanks for all who figured out this is a scam...I really appreciate it! I figured my ex-wife had sic'd a collection agent on me or something (haven't seen her since '87 too!) & I KNOW I have no outstanding debts to utilities, etc. But this site sure made me feel better! Now-how to make it stop?!  Yesterday was the 2nd time this annoying SOB has called & gotten aggressive...he wants aggressive, I'm the guy that can show it to him!

Hi.  My wife and I got the same message, and I found this list of posts this afternoon.  I e-mailed the Minnesota AG's office with the link to this site.

I called and the person who answered said Stan Lowe is in a meeting and he needed my info to find my file. I told him since you called me and have my phone number and seem to have my file then you explain to me what the purpose of the call is about. He kept asking for my info. I told him I'll be happy to give mine but first I needed His Name, address, phone number, social security number and his mother's maden name. That pissed him off and he hung up. Hmmmmmm

Called 11/7/2010 about 9:30 am.  Boy was I pissed tried to call back between the stated hours and got the full voicemail thing.  Which is fortunate for them cause they ain't heard a nasty message yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But let me get someone on the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I do not owe anyone!!!

Same routine.  Weekend call.  Same message. Would love to know what the scam is--because it is clearly a scam.

I received the same message on my recorder and Mr. Stanely is calling himself Stan Lowe.  Same BS as everyone else has stated - my file was transmitted to him and he would start the assesment process against me if I didn't return the call between 11/08/10 & 11/12/10 8-5 CST.  I am glad I read the blogs about this scam before I wasted my time with this Bozo.

nov.8 i called  that number back 2 differant times earlier today the  first time  they answerd as us bank  a few minutes later they answerd as regency assesstment management and both had people talking in the back ground .im sure thats arecording in the background and to think they are not only trying screw all of us over but they are using the names of good honest legidimitt buisnesses.

I have never received a call from this number but then my Uncle recieved a call from them and a person claiming he was "Stanley" claimed I had used my Unlce as a reference and they needed to contact me regarding litigation.  When my uncle asked exactly what it was regarding "stanley" claimed he was not a liberty to discuss it with my uncle.  I am outraged that this person is calling y family members about something i have no idea bout!!!!!

I also recieved the same threatening message but I returned the call and a very nice woman answered.  I told her about the call and gave her the number they were calling.  She told me they were trying to get ahold of _____ _____ who happens to be my ex-husbands wife.  I told her that my number wasn't hers and she assured me they wouldn't call again.  I don't believe it was a scam but a collection agency.

Received a message from Mr. Stanley with the same message that others are receiving.  This must be stopped.

Received a call fom this company at both of my published phone numbers looking for someone totally unrelated to our residence.  Obviously an unscrupulous way to track down bad debt without any concrete evidence of association with the person they are contacting.

i got calls from that 877 number before  and they would ask for a lewis i dont know any lewis  and i told them that  but then i got that call on sunday night  . today icalled that number and said iwanted to talk to stan low iwas told he wasnt there and the guy asked if i was lewis isaid yes    he said low had a message for me that iwas in 1000.000 $ debt to us bank and it was  due  today isaid i would callback then i hung up . if that is a collection agency they are breaking so many laws i allready called  ftc and attorneys office . i even called my bank to have them help get credit report just to make sure my identity wasnt stolen.
