Nice lies.  This is a FAKE debt collection agency.  They only call people who don't owe money, because they bought and resold that information 100 times over.  They never stop calling because once you tell them they have the wrong information, they simply turn around and sell your number to somebody else so they can repeated the harassment indefinitely.  People like you are part of the problem.

They are calling asking for someone that has never been at this phone number.

Did not answer - Sent the number to * 57, hopefully it gets checked out and stopped.

They called me from this number saying a different name DCA not CDS...they are a scam

Got a call from this number telling me to call back...I did and she tried to get me to verify my info. I explained that even if she were a real debt collector I am in bankruptsy and have been for a bit. She said well I need you to confirm your identity, I said no way I do not ever give info to someone who calls me. She became agressive telling me she would take me to court. I said lady obv you don't get that if you are a real collector you are breaking the law by trying to collect. I offered to give her my trustee's name and number and she said no you get him to call me...I said are you nuts...no other creditor has ever said that to me. Then she said well thats too **##$% bad. I lost it I started scream what a piece of crap you are and then unloaded a barrage of explatives at her...she hung up....such a bunch of scammers

No idea who the person they are looking for is. Leave me alone. I star 57 the number to have it traced though I doubt anyone actually traces it or does anything about it if they do.

*57, which is the call trace feature for use when capturing the details of the call (the who, what, when, where and how) is not an every day call feature. Once you dial it, next you should make a request of your telephone records of your phone company, which usually involves sending a letter by email or regular mail with your account number and signature.
There might be a cost for this service, which can vary from provider to provider.  It will not block a phone number, and is useless if you have no intention of pursuing the matter in court, or issuing a complaint about an agency to your provincial consumer affairs ministry.

Why do you answer a '877' or any number if you don't know who it is ?
Most telemarketers give up after 2 weeks of calling if you DON'T answer the call.

When I answer they hang up. When I call back and ask why they are calling they hang up on me.

Debt...do not know person

This is a company trying to collect on ancient debts that have for the most part been written off and are way past the limitation for anyone in Canada or the US to collect legally. They could be breaking the law to try and collect on debts that have been written off. They are parasites, The rule of thumb: DON'T TALK TO THEM ABOUT ANYTHING AND NEVER RETURN THEIR CALLS. Better still enter their number(s) in "Calls Blacklist" or "Mr Number" ,These are apps you can download to block certain numbers or  people from calling you on your phone. They work great. They cannot place these debts in any credit reporting agency and if they try do so you can sue them. Don't worry about them, they will eventually go away and try to find some other sucker to believe their lies and B.S. There are Statutes of Limitation in Canada and the US where the creditor is allowed to collect on bad debts. Beyond that there is nothing they can do. The Statute of Limitations basically allows the debtor to get a fresh start without having to go bankrupt. By the way, there have been many debt collection agencies that have gone bankrupt and stuck others with their bills.

The can call until they are blue in the face, they can leave messgaes, they can mail you letters but so long as you do not contact them, THEY CAN DO NOTHING the debt is so old!

Never mind saying to contact them, this is the collection agency trying to scam you here too that gives an idea of how hard up they are and how little they can do!
