As previously reported, called my personal cell for another person. Cell is a reassigned number from a major Canadian service provider and I get numerous calls for the previous customer who did not pay their bills.  Debt collectors call despite being told about reassigned number, as well as, an updated voice message clearly indicating new owner of phone - waste of time for me and for them (make work project - probably get paid by the number of calls and report a higher case load to their managers).  Probably should google client's name and search for them that way.  Number blocked and reported to service provider.

Since everyone else is sharing, I feel like I have to!

Back in January, I let me friend "Sarah" borrow my phone number to get a payday loan from Money Mart, as at the time she did not have a working phone. I was okay with getting calls and reminding her of her payments. We lived together so it was just a shout down the hall and no issue.

Since then, though, she has gotten a new number. I gave them her new number as soon as I knew it and did not recieve anymore calls for a while. Then, last Friday, I received a call from Money Mart once again, but told them her new number, stating that I have already told them the number, and kindly asked that they switch the number on her file. I was assured that it wouldn't happen again.

Two days later, on Monday, I received three calls in one day from a debt collector. Each time she called, I stated that I am not Sarah and gave her the new number. She promptly told me "I will make a note not to call this number anymore" and apologized for the inconvenience. However , they have not stopped. It is now Friday and I'm receiving multiple calls a day.

I have talked to Sarah about the situation and she has tried to call back the number that keeps calling me, but it is not working, apparently.

I have been trying to be polite with them, as I know that Sarah is late on a payment and they are just doing their job, but the communication between Money Mart and the 3rd party debt collectors are very inefficient and not effective.

For those of you in Canada like me, the number may be 1 877 519 1317, however, I have been getting calls from from a few different numbers but of the same nature. Good luck to you.

Getting calls from this number looking for someone who has never lived here or had  this number. Finally phoned them and told them to stop calling this number. We'll see what happens

I just received a call like this today. I immediately blocked the number it came in on and blocked the 877 number as well. I do not owe anything that is in collection. I got the exact same message as you did.

This was the same address (1200 Eglinton Ave. E. Suite 704 Toronto Ontario) and name ( DCA) however they are currently using a new phone number (‭+1 (249) 500-5187‬) just so everyone is aware.. Stay safe ;)

These are scammers. They called my cousin about an account on which was dormant for more than 3 years. They cannot take it to court if more than 3 years, they were hoping to dupe him into paying something so now it would be an active account and then they could take it to court. SCAM! Hope that all their employees and their families get coronavirus and die. They are scum.

The call me for almort 3 months everyday 5 to 6 time a day asking for a "Angela whatever is family name" I block the 18776078957 number after the second week of non-stop calling than they start calling me with a freaking unknown number... I call back with the recall number that give ask them to stop freaking calling me for Angela because I don't know here they said alright we gonna remove you number 2 day ago but they are still calling me f*ck

Keeps calling bad debt is tax deductible because they violated the law they can be sued for harassment if a lawyer calls the lawyer can be reported to the law society bad debt can not be collected after 2 year after last payment made

Keeps calling and asking for Yancey after telling them I don't know who that is and they said they where going to remove my number but never did.

Why would you tell people to "report  any  sucj  cal l to the  police" when there's nothing the police can do about unwanted phone calls?

Called left a message that it was BCAA and the need to talk to me and left a ext number. Did a reverse check on the number and saw it was a collection agency.

They left a message about calling about medical care and it was imperative that I call!!  I’m currently healing from emergency surgery from 3 months ago and all my medical care is covered!!  I don’t understand how they would know that I’m injured to get me to call them!!
It’s despicable that they are using something like this tragedy that has been so difficult to go through and has deeply effected myself and my family!!  And I know it has nothing to do with my medical care as they were using an older last name!!
