Time prescribed to claim a debt is generally three years. Therefore, in most of cases, that company has no legal basis for demanding money. Everyone who works there are scammers who deserve jail. Call the police and tell your story. As I am, you are victim of a "tentative of extorsion".

I don't know any Chris Joes so don't be calling me looking for him. Your calls are annoying. When I called it back the guy that answered said for me not to call and bother him. Figure that one out/

I had calls from this number "forever", sometimes a few times per week, sometimes a few times per month concerning a family member who moved away more than 8 years ago - then I called them back at their number with the file # they finally left on my voice mail.  I told the guy to stop bothering me and was as gruff as possible. He said "all you had to do was phone us, and we would stop" - said it more my fault for not phoning that the calls kept coming! So I firmly said don't call any more (that was 2+ months ago) and so far, it has worked.

What is it with these 8++ numbers lately? They call for people that don't live at our number or call for someone with a similar name as someone in the house yet won't confirm valid info to make sure they have the right person (as I've posted with another number that has been calling here). They get testy when you ask for valid ID on their part, etc... Seriously, I understand some people go into default on things for which ever reason you can think of but come on! Calling constantly isn't going to do them any good. No wonder it so easy to hate!

Pour me joindre.

MERCI!

I had over a year of this company calling me for "John Doe" before I called and said that I didn't know the person, and I'd had this phone number (at that point) for over 3 years.  I was told the calls would stop.  Recently they've started up again, for the same "John Doe."  I called again just now, pointed out that at this point I've had the phone number for 5 years, and was told the calls would stop.  I live in Canada and don't know if this is an American company, but my questions are: (1) if the calls resume a third time is there someone to whom I can complain, because it is ridiculous.  (2) how is this collection agency repeatedly getting the wrong phone numbers for people?

I knew the person they called looking for.  I am assuming the information here is correct and they are a collection agency.  I called and when asked how they could help me, I said my removing my number from their call list.  The person responded they would certainly do that, no questions asked.

It is a collection agency.   I called and asked our number be taken off their list as we have no idea who the person is they are looking for.   The lady was very polite and advised that we will no longer be receiving any calls.

I made a complaint about your company who' s calling me often and you have the wrong person and the wrong phone number and when I called you back (today, friday August 2, 2013) to tell you that you have the wrong person and never called me back , the receptionnist (a man) hang up on me.

Congratulations for your choice to hire nice people.

    gibberish:)
Received a call from this number. A legitimate company will identify themselves, if not then it's a scam. Not calling back. If you do call back, don't provide them with any personal information! Protect yourself.

Received calls on my cell phone from this number on at least these occasions:

    - Jul 18, 2013; 09:59
    - Jul 22, 2013; 12:30
    - Aug 7, 2013, 15:03

I called them about 20 mins later, using a blocked number, and was put on hold for 7-8 minutes. The agent was sympathetic and courteous in response to my concerns. He explained he needed either my phone number or an exact spelling of the recipient's name in order to retrieve the information in the system, so I provided the former. The name he pulled up matched the one I received from the voice messages. Turns out I have a recycled number from someone else. The agent told me he removed my number and I shouldn't be getting any more calls from them again.
