- Lotalegs38| 3 repliesChecked my account this morning to see $0.15 deposit, and three withdrawals for $0.07, $0.05 and $0.03. Shows as "Cash Today." Called my bank's fraud department and they got in touch with "Cash Today"'s bank as it was the only information available to the bank. Their bank (National Bank of California) gave my bank the phone number for "Cash Today." Called the number (210-249-4099) and it is for a company by the name of BillX. The gentleman I spoke with was very nice and explained to me that Cash Today uses their services as a "payment processor." When I told him I didn't know who this company was and why they were crediting and debiting my account he asked for my name and nothing else. He could see the transactions they had processed. He stated BillX doesn't know why the company is processing these transactions as they are only responsible for processing what Cash Today sends them. He immediately blocked my name from their system and sent notification to Cash Today to advise that they would not be processing any more charges to or from me and said I should not see anymore transactions. He also gave me a number for Cash Today (877-670-8738) which lead me to this posting. I have not called them yet, and probably won't because I don't want to open up a can of worms. I am going to my bank this afternoon and closing out this account and getting transferred to a new one. What a sadistic waste of my time!!!!

- renaissance| 1 replySame thing here: 0.01 deposit, and then three successive 0.05, .0.03, 0.02 debits. Called them at the 8776708738 number. They tried to "verify" my information, but it really seemed like they were trying to get me to fill out an application with them on the phone. Stopped her dead in her tracks at her 3rd question and turned the tables, grilling her on how they got my information. She claimed that I filled out an application back on December 22, and that they were "verifying" that my account was good. I told her to reverse every charge, CANCEL any application they had on file, and remove me from their database. She didn't argue or put up a fight - guess they've been getting alot of those calls today... regardless, I doubt that I'll ever see that "email verification" they claim to send about the account cancellation.
On a positive note, I called Bank of America about the issue and, in additional to placing a stop payment on the impending $30 debit, since I live in California, they were able to completely block them as a MERCHANT, so they can't tap into my account using any of their existing info or banking/routing information. They've also flagged this company and their info in their fraud database. I'm sure they'll be getting alot of calls throughout the day/weekend... The downside is that I'll still need to kill this account b/c they could still use my account info to debit my account from one of their alternate accounts. Nonetheless, I was very pleased with BofA's responsiveness to the situation.
Lesson learned - once you post your information online, you can never really be sure where that information may end up and how it might be used... Good luck, everyone...!- Caller: CASH TODAY - PAYDAY LOAN SCAMMERS
- KFWow, they got me too. Luckily I caught it before the deductions started. Glad I read this thread and knew what to deal with. I tried calling their number only to wait for about 8-10 minutes each time then being disconnected.
Wells Fargo was extremely helpful in transferring my account. - tdione123They deposited 3 small amounts into my checking in 1/23/12 and today tried to take out a larger chunk causing my account to be overdrawn. I'm making a trip to the bank tomorrow to block them and reported the company (cash today or cashtoday.me) to the FTC.
- AW replies to THINKQUIKI have had the same exact scam ran on me....but they gave me a refund confirmation number. The woman sounded foreign and pulled "my name" up in the system way too fast. We will see if the money is returned in3 to 7 business day. I think Im going to close my account if they cant do anything to stop transactions from them.
- Kevin Kinsley| 1 replyI just spoke with my bank about a charge of $30 taken out of my account from Cash Today. I DID NOT authorize any transactions from this company. The banker informed me that this company has routing numbers to different banks and will make a deposit for 6 cents just to check to see if an account is open. They will then withdrawal that amount throughout 3 transactions in the amounts of 3 cents, 2 cents, and 1 cent. They will then make a debit for a larger amount. I would like to file some kind of class-action lawsuit against this company. If anyone is interested, please email me at irishkevin1979@att.net.

- OneUnhappyCamper replies to G washington| 1 replySame thing happened to me, they deposited SIXTEEN CENTS (2 different deposits), they withdrew SIXTEEN CENTS in SIX DIFFERENT WITHDRAWLS (all 1, 2, or 3 cents). My wonderful bank, BB&T, charged me SIX $35 Returned Item fees (my account was already overdrawn, so yes... sixteen cents overdrew it).
That's $210 in fees for this crap and I have no clue who this company is or how they got my information.
I'm closing my account ASAP. And BB&T can forget about their $210 in fees. I refuse to pay it. - melaniethey took $30.00 out of my account and put me in a negative. i never authorized anyone to take money out! and i cant call cash today since it is a weekend. these people need to be put out of buisness!

- mitch454this co. gets your bank info. from a broker from cash advance inquiries you made online. There are shady people now who are saying it's for memberships for loans at a discount rate and yet they don't give loans. What they do is deposit a few cents then take it out on 3 transactions so if you don't have fraud protection with your bank you will rather they take the $30.00from you then to spend $35.00 to stop the transaction. The best thing to do is close your acct. and never give info. online to anyone, you cannot trust anyone in the cash adv. business. When they take 3 transactions out you would have to stop payment 3 times at $35.00 a shot. I hope they get caught soon, almost a perfect crime

- mitch454 replies to Lotalegs38when I called and pressured the person on the phone he slipped and blew his cover, it his co. doing it and there is no processing co. for these scams, beware there are more out there and as long as you don't close your accounts they have other names they go under, another name is money management in India.
- mitch454 replies to OneUnhappyCamperDoesn't your bank have fraud protection? They should not charge you for these overdrafts. Talk to your banks fraud dept

- irate and not gonna take it| 2 repliessame as everyone else! they took 3 cents, 2 cents, 1 cent then credited 6 cents. i called on friday and told them they were not authorized to do so. dorothy (or so she said her name was) told me that all further transactions were cancelled. today they attempted to take $30 out of my acct. went to bank and put a stop payment on it and called them again...anna (or so she said her name was but sounded just like the one on friday) tried to tell me their policy .... i let her know in no uncertain terms that i was going to file fraud charges and naming names...hers included...along w/dorothy...in the charges.
they are not accredited w/bbb but bbb does take complaints about companies. i have filed fraud with them and am considering getting a class action lawsuit against them as well. these people think they can't be touched. (dorothy told me this friday...ha!)
have also sent them emails telling them they were not authorized to access my acct and was assured in a reply that they had cancelled my account with them...bold face lie! sent another email to them letting them know i was filing complaints against them...and possibly filing a lawsuit.
i am one angry person right now.- Caller: cash today
- irate replies to irate and not gonna take italso...i never had an account w/them...yet they think it's okay to take money w/out authorization anyways. they are frauds....and we need to stop them before they go further.
- Bonster replies to renaissanceDid they actually reverse the charge? I'm scared to call them because although they may already have my account info, I don't want to say it again over the phone. What information did you have to give them in order for them to know who you were and your "account?" I'm on hold with my bank at the moment. This is really scary!
