This is from DirectTV.  Calls received at least 5 times each day.  I do get a voice message asking me to call or go to DirectTV on the web for more information.

These calls are from an organization to thank people for their support and sometimes to see if we want to continue with our support nothing else.

Our church pastor is uses this number occasionally to call all of the church members when he wants to pass on messages or reminders to the entire church.  They pay to use the automated service and the recorded voice leaving the message is our pastor.

Got a robo-call [illegal] from this number in the Hmong language. Listened to the whole message. It references 612-272-2251 and later in English talked about One Call Now service. We don't have children - much less ones in little league/youth sports and are not if scholo .. so to me it is a junk call.  

Additionally, we have the number they REPEATEDLY on the Do Not Call list AND this is a robo-call - which are now illegal.

I strongly recommend going to donotcall.gov and filing a robo-call complaint if you are getting calls form this number unnecessarily.

It was the school calling to report that school was cancelled for the day. So for us, this was a legit call but it was not the normal number for the automated calling system and the number came through on the caller ID as if it was from CA which is many states away.

After reading the comments on this number, seems it has had a variety of uses and is probably worth answering.

It's a number used by a group call, or mass phone call system. It comes up for two different agencies here -- our childs school sending out mass notifications like buses running late, or school closures, and it shows up for Cox communications notifying us of outages in the area.

So far have no received a telemarketing type call from this number.

It was from my child's school. Just an automated message saying that the flu is going around.

I've gotten several messages from this number.

When an organization has a message they need to send to a large number of people (for example, alerting tennants of an apartment complex that the parking lots will be plowed on a given day/time), they can call each person themselves (taking a lot of time), or they can pay a bit of money to have an auto-dialer call everyone on their list and deliver a pre-recorded message.

877-698-6163 is the callerid-  It is a messaging service that my daughter's high school uses to send messages about various events, games, activites, registration, AP classes, bus routes, school closings, etc. to all of the parents who have provided their phone number to the school for such things.  Sometimes the callerid number is slightly different, but it is always very close to the same number. (have been receiving these calls since daughter enrolled in her school in August 2012)

Yes legitimate one call number. Most schools use for all directory call. Obviously you can't get anyone if you call back but if they have your number it's from someone you gave it to, ie school, local utilities, churches, etc

The caller, www.onecall.com. seller for ear phone and adapter, called us 12:34 noon, 03/06/2013. I returned the call 03/08/2013 14:25. It allowed me to click on 1 to remove my phone from calling list.
Many people have filed complaints with www.800notes.,since 2007.

calls all times of day and night. does not leave a message.. annoying especially since I work night shift and continually wakes me. 5 calls in several days. when you call the number back it says no one is available to take your call... goodbye.

It is a mass phone call for emergent info for our recreational baseball league.  Games cancelled, etc.

It's not a soliciting call. It's from One call now which is service businesses use when they need to send out mass calling. Just got one & it was from my sons day camp informing the parents the buses left camp late. Awesome service.

I received call at 8:03pm EST on July 21 2013.  I did not answer the call, noone left me a voice message.

2013-08-02 1817hrs - SAME: Ted Shutlesworth - a church organisation with a "camp" invitation. I am on a do-not-call list which seems to be ignored by MANY - for about a year. Call to northern Ontario - Canada.

This is a toll-free number, as is any number with the area code 8xx, where the 2 x's are the same digit. I never answer these calls. This particular number is a message from the local town police. I let my answering machine answer it so that I can play back the message in case I missed something or forget the details a few days later.

Just called the number back and gave me the option to opt out. Pushed 0 (zero) for help. Hope it works.

This was an automated call from the Elks.  It looks like organizations can give them a message and they send to their members
