- brendaI got a call and was told that I would be served the next day between 12-3. I could make arrangments to pay within 10 days and that would stop the server, they would be told to overnight the paperwork back to the company. I fell for it, hook line and sinker. It took me about 3 days to recover from the panic that gave me. Then I started to research this and found I was not the first sucker to be called with this.
I did make the arrangements during that call so I called my bank and the payment had not cleard so I put a stop payment on it and the bank said they get hundreds of calls like this a day. The next day I was horrified to see that the payment was charged to my account, I did a dispute and it took a couple days but the bank refunded my money.
Then...I get a call from NPS about the stopped payments, just a voice mail since I was working at the time, but 10 minutes later, I get a text from my son that they called HIM, and told him to have me call them about a 'LEGAL MATTER"!
long story short, NPS Arbritation, is located at the exact same address as a defunk company called NORTH AMERICAN ARBRITATION. I called the BBB in NewYork, filed a complaint against them, the BBB advised calling the FTC and filing a complaint which I did. I also googled the ADDRESS of NPS, and lo and behold its a UPS store.
Then I called NPS, I told them I had not been provided any proof of this debt, he said he had emailed me on such and such date, I said no you did not. I also asked him what his address was, I already knew but I wanted him to tell me. When he did, I told him that was a UPS STORE. No, its a suite he says. He said hold on I will re send and we will go over it together. I was on hold for a long time, I started to hang up but did not. THen some other man answered and fill me in, I dont know whats going on, blah blah blah.
Once all of this was done, I had the number for the ups store because I printed it out before I made any calls. I asked what the store address was, if it had office space upstairs, he said no, it was in a plaza single floor building. I said well theres a collection agency at your address, he said well they have a box here!

- Claudia HightScott sounds very official, and if I hadn't been advised the call was a hoax, I would have called back.
- Almost Fell For ItSimilar to the 5 NOV 2015 post, Scott Weaver sounded very official and if I hadn't looked up "NPS Arbitration" and found this post, I would have probably called back and fallen for the scam. To note, I received three phone calls prior to the professional sounding phone call from Scott. The first two were not professional, as the man (Dave Adams) could hardly be understood and said things like "now if i don't hear back from you now". He said he was a courier assigned to serve me legal documents and that if I wanted questions answered or desired a stop order, that I needed to call 888-233-8095. The third call sounded legitimate and the person stated his name was John Edwards with NPS Arbitration and wanted me to call back in regards to documents they needed to serve, 877-463-2079. The fourth phone call, with Scott Weaver, stated that he was serviced to serve me a legal document between noon and 3 and stressed that the legal document involved my name and social security number. That number was 877-275-1268. I am afraid that this company does have my personal information if they were able to find out my full name and cell phone number. I've only read one person on this thread who has voiced this concern. Should I be worried?

- lmahThis is funny. I received a call today at my job from John, but he did not use Cart or Duvall. He use Edwards. REALLY!! He couldn't have been more original JOHN EDWARDS. Well he said everything that all you had stated. He did slipped up. He stated that they would be out one day next week to serve papers but first the papers had to be filed on Monday or Tuesday of this week. Then he said I could have an attorney if I have one give me a call and he can go over the details with me. First of all, he did not know my full last name. The number he left was 877-862-6618. So I am guessing he knows that people are catching on to his scam. So now he is learning different techniques. Now this creep just called my cell phone this time he just stated who he was he was calling from the Law offices of NPS Arbitration. This time he just used my first name.
