well jay, i think you are mistaken about them being a scam. for example, take their guaranteed savings program. they guarantee 3-30 cents off per mcf or ccf (depending on your utility) and there is no cancellation fees. how is this a scam. and also, the only reason people's bills would be going up would be because they are using more gas each month. their rate isn't going up, but if they use more gas, well then obviously their bill is going up. also, they are the oldest natural gas supplier out there, and the largest, and have been around since 1989. if they are such a scam, tell me how it is possible they are still allowed to operate. i am sorry to state the facts, but one of my best friends works for igs, and i have signed up with years ago and have never had a complaint. they are well aware of the "negative nancys" out there who just have an ax to grind. however, it's the other suppliers out there who are just making them look bad.

i would invite you and anyone else reading this to take a look at this article from a very reputable newspaper reporter who is quite informed about the natural gas market. she listed igs energy as her top choice for a one-yar fixed rate (not even talking about the guaranteed savings).

again, not trying to pry here, but why are you so upset with igs. i do however understand if you are mad about them calling you all the time like you say, but if you were informed about the natural gas market, you wouldn't call them a scam.

why only offer 3 cents when you used to offer a guaranteed 5%??

when the discount runs out,how much does the utility charge the customer to switch away from you?

why are your rates with cities that sign up on your aggregation program so much higher than the rates they pay through their own utility?

as for the reporter,i am sure she has a shiny new car thanks to IGS Energy.

do the smart thing,stay away from suppliers like IGS Energy,you will not save money on your gas bill.

i had IGS Energy on my gas service for 3 months,and i learned it is a RIPOFF.

They have been calling every day for over 3 weeks now.  We are a business!  We have no gas.  As soon as I tell them this they hang up before I get to ask them to take us off their list.  I called their home office after I looked up this number and asked to be taken off.  They say that can take at least 30 days!!!  We are on the National "Do Not Call" list.  I think I will report them.

I spoke with someone in at IGS and they told me that the reason I would keep getting calls is that my local natural gas supplier (even thouhg we don't have natural gas) provides phone numbers to them. He tried to explain why, but honestly I didn't understand. He said to call my local gas company and have them not give out my number. Just thought I'd pass on what I was told.

I just called the Ohio number and asked for Mike. The girl who answered sounded shocked, and asked where I got the number. I told her that thankfully it's all over the place since so many people are sick of their scams. She asked for my 10 digit telephone number and said we would be taken off the list. She asked if I was on the DNC, and I told her yes. She tried to make some excuse but I politely told her we would be making a complaint with the Attorney General's office if we got any more calls, and to note that my husband is an Assistant AG in our state (very true) so we won't be letting this go. I would be pissed if they scammed my grandmother, or anyone for that matter.

your utility does do that,but since you dont use natural gas they lied to you.

they got your number from a list compiled by a seller of phone data.

Have ATT UVERSE here, and have 4 numbers blocked from calling at either number here.  just blocked 1-877-724-5557  also can listen to your voice mail online  instead of having to log it in on the phone everytime you get one.

I have asked not to be called anymore with all of these promotions I have a gas supplier and I'm sticking with them.Yet even though it has been several months of non stop calls from 877-724-5557 But your people also rudely hang up everytime I answer the phone now and this has went on for several week's.When I have called the last two days the same receptionist answer's and she is very rude she has a problem with hanging the phone up on me also.So since she will not connect me with a Supervisor other than herself whom of which has ignored me and hung the phone up on me.I'Am now going to take this to the next step and Report this to The Consumers Protection Agency And I will move up from there until this problem is solved and I no longer recieve phone calls at my # 810-407-7998 I want to be put on the do not call list like I have politely asked more than once!!
