- PmpdGot a call today and a visit. Needless to say I did not do anything. I was given a quote of $45.00 For a cleaning. When they got here they told me I needed a new liner immediately and I would receive $300.00 off if I did the work immediately. Go with your gut, if it sounds too good to be true -it is. I will call my regular contractor and willhave it looked at and the job done properly. The number I received a call from was 973-348-5064. The callback for the point ent was from "Lee" on a line that stated "private caller." Beware of anyone saying they are with "Chimney Cleaning Company." While ther are actually companies with that name, be careful, get license numbers and definitely only go with company's that are recommended. There is so much out there on this company and complaints in multiple states-Nj, CT, etc. Do your homework and do not let them into your home.

- KarenWe've been receiving calls from "Private Caller" for several days. I decided to answer tonight. It was this place, trying to schedule a chimney cleaning. I told the woman I'd have to discuss it with my husband before we scheduled anything. I asked for the company name and she said "Lico", so she too changed the spelling. Glad I found these comments! Sounds like a total scam. She is supposed to call again tomorrow evening so we'll know not to answer. Ugh!!

- NJ MomNot sure how this company is allowed to solicit via phone when I am on a do not call list, and being in marketing myself, that is a sure sign that something is not legitimate! So going online to verify this company, I was glad to see the comments and warnings here. Too good to be true is usually too good to be true. Buyer beware.
I'd like to report this company as a violator of DNC policy.- Caller: Lisco Chimney Service

- MaryCancelled appointment after reading messages from others. Something did not seem right. I did an internet search on Lisco Chimney(the woman on the phone used this spelling) and there was nothing about them being in NJ, which I thought was odd. When I cancelled, the person hung up very abruptly. Tell these people your not interested, do not call again and hang up.

- TI received a call from this company and with research I am for sure going to cancel.
- JohnJust got a call from Marsha with Lisco. They gave me the same $45.00 offer. After I hung up I decided to do some research and found these messages and called immediately to cancel. They sound nice, and they don't pressure you on the phone. They reference their Blue trucks in the neighborhood, they claimed to have an offices in Fraimingham, and Caimbridge.

- JenGot the same calla few nights ago and they came today. Guys were very nice and friendly. Told me they couldn't sweep chimney because I needed a liner. Said it runs for $1737 but if they do it right now it would only $1400. I agreed but at the sand time had a pit in my stomach. As they unloaded the equipment I quickly changed my mind and told them the same. They tried so hard to get me to do it and I just said I wasn't comfortable. Then they said they'd have to charge to re-cement everything back in place. I got so angry and new then I was completely getting lied to that I called my brother in law who is a cop in town. As soon as they heard that, they re-cemented and were back in their van within 5 minutes. What jerks! Never again!

- DebbieGot a call from this company. Lady identified herself but I can't remember her name. She talked about the $45 deal and they would check carbon monoxide and smoke detectors... Blah blah blah. So I asked her what company she was with and she said Lisco. She said you'll see us around if you haven't. Said they were going to be in the area but wasn't sure for how long. I found this to be strange. I told her that I would do some research on the company and call her back. She then stated to me don't believe everything that you read. I asked her what she meant and she said just don't believe what you read on the internet about the company.

- BWI got a call from this company today offering an inspection and cleaning for $45 dollars. We recently moved into this house and aren’t from the area (North NJ) so I have actually been thinking I needed to schedule a cleaning. When I agreed and asked when they could come they offered an additional $5 dollars off if they came today or tomorrow. It seemed a little strange but I happen to be working from home so I figured it was a good chance to get it taken care of. At the end of the conversation I asked for the name of the company and the number to call them back at she said it very quickly.... I asked her to spell it and she again said it very quickly... So I repeated what I thought it was and confirmed “LISCOS”.
After some Google research I found this site. I was 99% sure that it was the same company but decided to Google Lysco and call their number to see what time I had scheduled my appointment for (I hadn't forgotten) the lady on the phone confirmed that they did have an appointment for me. I asked to cancel the appointment and when I did she asked why. I stated that I did some research online and didn’t want to do business with their company. She promptly hung up.

- MaryI received a call from a Dale Evans (a Southern accent ) and he told me he was calling in reference to cleaning my chimney and asked if I had a fireplace also. I was quoted a price of $40 complete to clean chimney, gas log fireplace, check for carbon Monoxide, along with certified papers, guarantee, etc. He sad he would be in my neighborhood(Philadelphia) the next day. I set up an appt. for 8am to 10am and he asked for my cell no also and would contact me before he came. I was suspicious. The next morning I was going to tell him I was cancelling. He never came or called but a little after 10:00 am I got a voice mail message from a Danielle confirming my appt. and to call 1-877-730-5898. I returned the call an hour later to cancel and asked her the name of the company so I could look it up. She told me it was Lisk Chimney. I spelled it and she said that was correct and told me to call again when I was ready to set up another appt. After finding this website I know that will never happen. Thanks for this info.

- Nancy replies to NancyI'm sorry. The correct name is Lysco. Still a scammer preying on the elderly.
- KarenSecond call in three days from this company, Digit dropped from caller ID, only 87-773-0589 came through. Call today was from Nicole and when I stopped her dead and told her that I had told her colleague that I wasn't interested, that I hadn't done business with a chimney company in several years and that I was on the Federal Do List so she shouldn't be contacting me, she got indignant and told me my information was in her "records" and showed that I had never been called before. I told her to remove me immediately and that I'd be filing a donotcall.gov complaint, which I did. This company's harassment needs to stop.

- sigmund in philly replies to NONABUS| 3 repliesHey moron. They are not hard working people they are scam artist preying on seinors and using scare tactics on others. I am in the chimney business and when i told them this they gave me a rude comment and hung up. Scum is scum and the others you mention need to be delt with by the law as well. Protect your self and deal with local companys with referals if possible. And no one wants these people calling and i prefer not to have it ring in the first place.
- Kay| 1 replyUnfortunately this company preyed on an elderly lady who actually came to her house after an ice storm here in PA and stated they got approval to do the work by her son. The woman left them in, they remained in her basement for 2 hours and then handed her a bill for $1908.00. She wrote them a check and after they left, she felt uneasy about it and called her bank to put a stop pay on it. Luckily, she banks with a credit union and they do NOT cash checks or I'm sure they would have cashed it right away. We called the company and requested they call her son to call his mother and that she would not make good on the check until that occurred. We never heard from them or the son. This is scarey to say the least. The odd thing is that her son makes all the decisions now that she lost her husband and other son who lived with her several years ago and why this woman thought it was legit. I brought her invoice in to work today to research this company only to find address on invoice is a medical building filled with doctors. Another address kept pulling up here in Harrisburg, PA but that is an empty building and no company pulled up under this name. Then I searched for Chimney cleaners here in Harrisburg and several pulled up but all listed as N 2nd St, Harrisburg, PA, with different phone numbers. When I called each phone number, several sounded like they the same person on the answering machine. Luckily I called from my work phone which will give a phone number on caller id's but will not be a number they can reach you back because it is a trunk line not an actual legitimate phone# . I am really torn as to what to do. This woman's son wants to put her in a home and so she doesn't want son to know but at the same time, I don't want other people to get scammed by these crooks! It appears this company moves from state to state until someone figures them out and then they move to the next one. Their invoice reads as follows: Lysco, 12 Penns Trail, Newtown, PA, 18940. 877-730-5898 License# PA093248. BY company name, it pulls up with an address of 600 N 2nd St, Harrisburg, PA, 17101

- Tamianth replies to KayI would report it, to the FBI, FTC and local LE.. This outfit does indeed need shut down! Might also consider alerting the State attorney general also. They will usually alert the news media's to run a scam alert on outfits such as this..
It would have been better if she had actually called her son to confirm if he had or not.
