I got three calls from them while their men stood outside my door and rang the doorbell.  I refused to open the door because I'd already told the woman who called to tell me that they were on their way to clean my chimneys that I knew nothing about having an appointment and for them not to come.  Two of the phone numbers came up as "Private Caller" but the other number was actually shown. Other number they used was: 631-392-1927 which is listed as Cablevision Lightpath in Deer Park, NY.   They finally left, but stuck a business card in my storm door for LYSCO with LyscoChimney@yahoo.com and www.lyscoChimney.com which brings you to IPOWER, a website which is temporarily down Oh yeah, their card says they take American Express, VISA, MasterCard and Discover!  Just in case you're foolish enough to take them up on their offer!

Received a call from Nicole saying that they could clean my chimney for $45. I did schedule an appointment but cancelled just as fast after reading all the comments from other people. Thanks and I should have know that the price was too good to to true. Sticking with my local chimney co. Thanks again for all your comments very helpful.

You're the moron. They are not a scam co. There are many co that are just to name one it's Brooklyn Union and her name is Bernadette and she lives on Nicolls Road in DP. Go after her she said she's another co altogether. But that is ok? Leave this co alone... By the way they are out of bus for ur information....

You know what's a sure sign of a scam? When some shill for the company posts a nasty, incoherent rant in all caps. That's pretty much a dead giveaway.

I am so glad I found the web site complaints for Lysco cheap work;  I canceled.  

The call was like everybody said;  nice and cheap and company located in New Town, PA and Lawrenceville, NJ - no such listing for Lysco.

I got a call from these people told and they were so pushy to get an appt made for this week. I told no and they kept pushing that it needs done. I told him to give me his number and I'll let him know if I change my mind. I knew it was kind of fishy that they are calling for business. I have never heard of any company calling for work. His name was Robert W. Defiantly won't be hearing from me!

Marie cold called me (from 877 730 5898) on 4/8/14 pushing the Lisco chimney sweep for $45 and for an oil fired furnace and the technicians would "inspect" the flue of the fireplace for an additional $80. Polite NJ accent but pushy to get it done ASAP. I deffered and she called a week later with her notes from our previous conversation. How many rooms? How many stories? What pitch is the roof? How old was the house? How many fires a year do I burn?  You only have to clean the f/p flue every 150 burns etc. Phishing for info was clearing her motive. I played along and scheduled for 3 weeks out. In the following three days, I received 2 calls (from 781 352 7172 - local # from Magic Jack) stating "the guys" had some cancellations in my area (MA) and could be here in 20 minutes and would only need 2 hrs. Obviously I balked at the offer but the pushy MO was too much.

They are now using a new approach the caller id number is incomplete so you can't check it on any site.
The number displays as 87-773-0589 . Any company that uses these tactics to get you to answer their call has to be a scam.

I read the posts and just cancelled thanks for the info. Don't know why it took me so long to do the leg work. Just didn't feel good .

They're still at it. (Karen - $45/$40 if have it done the next day). Their tactics are the same as those listed in other posts. (My regular heating/plumbing professional charges $250.)
I, too, am on National Do Not Call List.

I agree about those "gaming the system" - they should be stopped & prosecuted, but in NO WAY should that indemnify those attempting to deceive & defraud people.  Why shouldn't & couldn't these people use whatever intelligence & abilities they possess to good ends through legitimate means & methods, rather than dishonest ones!!?!

Received call from number in my area code under a woman's name.  Thought it might be the mother of one of my son's friends or something so I answered.  Wanted me to get a chimney cleaning and inspection for $40 if I scheduled for tomorrow or next day.  Told her to leave number and call back- she left the 877-730-5898 number and a name that didn't match the name on the caller ID.  Very strange.  Needless to say I'll pass.
