Just as an FYI I am on the Do Not Call List as well but also just found out through the FTC that charity organizations are exempt from the call list. I'm sorry but I have at least 10 charity organizations calling and asking for donations. It's annoying. They should be included in the do not call list as well.

Have received calls and they've hung up.  So I got curious then answered the next call and their was a lot of people talking in the background.  He asked if I'd like to donate for the state troopers.  Said that to be a gold member I can donate $35., I told him that I can donate and he asked for more.  Than another guy got on and asked my information.  I called the state troopers here in Alaska and the lady said that their has been a lot of calls about donations and that I should call my bank.  I called the bank and now I can't cancel the transaction or post a stop payment because it was on my VISA card.  This is is fraud and who knows how much is being swindled and how it's being used.

This number(Fund Raising Information from Public Safety in our State, I know this because I called the number back)called us a 11:40am and again at 5:01pm on Sunday 4-27-08. My husband answered the earlier call and told them we were getting ready to go to church. I answered the phone at 5:01pm and spoke with a guy by the name of Anthony. It was concerning something about the police and they wanted to send us a decal and he was about to go into other information but I stopped him and quickly told him I was surprised and quite disturbed that they called on Sunday and to remove our number from there system. He simply stated they did call on Sunday and he would remove our number. However, I have a feeling this is not the last call we will get.

I got a call 4/28/08.  No one left a message

They called me THREE DAYS after I had my phone number changed to an UNPUBLISHED NUMBER!!!!!  Said they were from the Maine Federation of Fire Fighters as well.  I already knew they were frauds!!!!  I asked how they got my number and I was told that they couldn't tell me and that they were a non-profit organization and were exempt from the do not call registry.  I told him I just got the number three days before and wanted to know how he got my number as it was supposed to be UNPUBLISHED; he said he couldn't tell me.  I had my number changed SPECIFICLLY for this type of call yet in the past week I have had two more calls from Dish TV supposedly out of New York City calling and asking for me specifically!!!

Have been calling for months.  NO response to machine or pick up.  Just harrassment.  The law needs to do something about this insanity.

I live in PA. They call here too. Claiming to represent one of three organizations. The FOP, the PA Fire Chiefs Assoc, or the Fireman's Association of PA. Now while I respect and support fire fighters and police, this form of fund raising has to stop! The company doing the calling IS NOT a non-profit. They also are ignoring the "DO NOT CALL" status of our number. The next time they call I am asking them to remove me from their list. Then if they EVER call again, I will file a compliant with the AG of PA. Enforce YOUR rights!

Just calls and no one there.  Finally will disconnect with time.  Came here and now know.  Called # and is a fund raiser for my area.  Wanted my phone number to speak with whomever.  No thanks.

I screen all my calls so that they go to voice mail. My welcome message (if you can call it that), is the following, " Hi, If I don't know you, I just don't want to talk to you,so leave me your name, number and a message stating your business and who knows, I MIGHT return your call".

Let your family and friends know of your intentions...By the way If you find out who these COPS are, report them to your Attorney General...

The message does work as I get very few annoying calls since I started it.

Giving them a donation was the biggest mistake you could have made as I wife did it once and they now call more often and for more money.....
These guys are fakes and nothing but a bunch of crooks, the same applies to the firemen calling......Report them to your Attorney General, If his office gets enough of theses calls 9AND I MEAN FLOOD THEIR OFFICE WITH THEM)the'll get sick of it.

Well you better stop donating because they are nothing but a bunch of crooks looking for a free handout Instead REPORT THEM TO YOUR ATTORNEY GENERAL

I know that all of you are becoming agitated with these bogus 800 numbers.

Everytime and I do mean everytime you get calls of this sort continue to call your State Attorney Generals Office, I MEAN LOAD THEIR OFFICE WITH THESE COMPLAINT CALLS. believe me you will see results. Just keep their phones ringing daily by the minute.

Now Bobbie!!!!!!!! That was the most direct answer to this prblem that I have seen yet."Got a call fromt his number today... and they said that they represented NASA and are taking donations for the familys of fallen Alien Tourists who's ship had crashed whiel visiting Earth.

They also offered with a "gold" donation of $40 a plaque and photo proving alien life and "most likley" the actual fmaily menber who would recieve the money.

I gave them the money.. and have since been visited twice by aliens who have thanked me personally for my care and support."

IN OTHER WORDS TO THE REST OF THE COMPLAINERS, JUST DON'T SIT THERE, DO SOMETHING, REPORT THEM.....sheesh!!!

To "Bin NH" dont waste your time going to your local PD...Just call your State Attornry Generals Office (Everytime it happens 5,10,100 I dont care hoiw many times a day, untill his office gets tired of your calling. Remember he works for you not the other way around...If they say your harrassing him then by all means, sue the Attorney General

These are'nt cops or firemen, they are crooks!!!!!!!!!!!! Buy yourself a police whistle and the next time they call blow it as loud as you can into his/her ear!!! Give them an earache, they'll stop.
