Called saying they were trying to collect on a debt.  Used my last name from my first marriage. Haven't had that name in 11 years. couldn;t understand name of company but gave this phone number.

This is the number that you call if you want to be removed or if the debt collector called the wrong number. The debt collector is Windham Professionals or something similar. They have called twice and used my name, don't have any outstanding debt so I don't know what is going on. The number that calls leaving this number is (888) 415-8093. You are suppose to call this number (877) 786-0010 to be removed from the list, but there is no information.

Received a call from Jerry Kazmarek at Windham Professionals Inc trying to get hold of a relative. That relative has not lived here for over 30 years. The contact number is 855-267-6939  and the number to remove yourself from the call list is 877-786-0010.

Remember that the CFPB now has jurisdiction over student loans, their collection, and collection practices.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Calls from this debt collection service for someone that I have never heard of.  Calls blocked.

Recording stating they are trying to collect debt from individual. This is a business number no one by that name has ever worked here. Believe it to be a SCAM, especially after reading other comments. Recording wanted me to call another number in return to report he is not here. Will NOT do that as who knows what they can do, such as gain long distance, etc if I call them.
