- Sichuan| 3 repliesIt's Credit One Bank calling. Credit One is a bottom feeder among credit card issuers. I applied for one of their credit cards and then did a little research on them. I immediately called them and told them to cancel the application, which they did, at no charge to me. I then applied for a Citi Bank credit card and a Chase Bank credit card, which I received.
Credit one charges you an annual fee for their credit card. When you make a payment you have two options; either pay a fee to have access to the money you just paid or wait seven days to have access to it. Credit One Bank also charges you a fee for an increase in your credit limit, to add an authorized user and to select a non-standard card design. Credit One Bank feeds on those who have less than stellar credit. I advise everyone to stay away from Credit One Bank and their credit cards. They don't answer any calls from any of their numbers advertised as "Customer Service" on their website. You cannot access a live person using their automated answering system. They want your money but when you need to speak to anyone as far as Credit One Bank is concerned you can go to Hell. The only reason I was able to reach a live person was because I used the number on their "application" webpage.
Banks such as Credit One will continue to take advantage of those in need because the Republicans in Congress refuse to allow the government to stop this kind of [***]. Money is their god and corporate profits are their holy grail. Their greed and selfishness is more important to them than the interests of consumers.- Caller: Credit One Bank

You knew who called, So, why are you posting here? - BigA replies to Slim| 1 replyMight I point out that he called them, not the other way around. That sounds a lot like a politically skewed rant to me.

(My attention span was not long enough to get to the "it is all the Republicans' fault" garbage, before I hit an autoreply macro.
Probably just one of the many trolls that post here. - AmandaPossible scam...? Got a voicemail today saying it was Credit One bank and telling me to call back at this number (vm came from a different #, although from NV where Credit One is supposedly based). There was no case reference # given like some banks do for credit checks. Didn't say why they were calling. I have never heard of this company nor have I applied for any credit in the last year. Given the recent Equifax security hack I'm a little paranoid.
I called the number and it asked for my card number, I don't have one so then it asked if I was calling about a credit application. I pressed 2, for yes. It then asked me to input my ssn. Ummm... no. I pressed some random numbers and it beeped 3 times, meaning it had disconnected/hung up. Called back and went through the phone tree and got to the same place where it asked for ssn. This time I pushed 0 since often that sends you to a rep instead. Same thing; 3 beeps and it hung up. Called again, different tactic. Same result. I'm used to places that say "we couldn't understand your response, connecting you to a customer service agent..." but not this time.
So either this is a scam or it's a "legit" company that is incredibly stupid and bad at what it does. Again, given the recent hack and people feeling less safe than ever about their personal info, the fact that the phone tree only has options for account number or social security number with NO way to talk to a person does not give a sense of legitimacy or security. I would not deal with anyone who wants you to call this number.- Caller: Credit One

- OfficeFlunkyThe boss received a statement from Credit One with no activity, but a $75 annual fee. The boss doesn't recall having an account with Credit One Not knowing if this was a potential case of identity theft or fraud, both the boss and I attempted to call this number several times because it appeared on the statement as the customer service number and the number to be called to cancel an account. Each call rang unanswered, so the boss had me draft a letter requesting the account be closed. I'll recommend sending it registered/return receipt so we get confirmation that it arrived and was signed for. I'm not sure what to think about this number being unanswered. It appears the company has no problems using it for outgoing calls, but doesn't actually want to accept calls from anyone.
For those needing to correspond with Credit One, the current customer service address is:

- Alycia SI Do have a card with Credit One and I am paid up...pay more than minimum each month. And I get calls from this number also. It's NOT a collector for them...they have no reason to be calling me. It's a scammer trying to get info. Do NOT talk to them. Hang up then block them.

- Heaven1134I got a call from them and answered. They said they were with Visa and MasterCard could lower the interest rate on my credit cards. I went through the process by feeding them false information until they wanted my credit card number. I told them I would not give them that and they tried to reassure me and redirected me several times. They would not provide me with their phone number or address and so I told them I wasn’t interested and to stop calling me. They hung up on me at that point.
I know you’re not supposed to talk to these people when they call, but I figured taking up a chunk of their time meant they were losing money.- Caller: Visa MasterCard Company

- Masha| 1 replyThey are a fraud. They send you a pre approved credit card asking you to confirm and apply online. The they send you a denial letter saying that your credit score is below the standard. Total fraud and they seem to steal your information. Be aware. Should report this to FBI.
