- Caller: don't know
- Call type: Debt collector
- RadioThis guy calls at least once a day asking for my Marketing Manager (somehow he acquired his name). We have caller ID and my M.M. will not pick up a call unless there is a name or business attached to it - and this clown will not leave a message on voice mail either. Oh well, now that I've found this site and realize I'm not the only one being irritated by these calls - EVERY DAY - future calls go right to the automated operator. Thanks everyone!
- Caller: Unknown
- maggie| 3 repliesAsked for executive director by first and last name, then said he was with "WCLM." We get enough requests for interviews that I let this one go through, thinking it was a radio station. Sneaky jerks.

- FrankCalled to speak with the owner. Employee that answered the phone said I had spoken with this person about a "project" last week. Since I never use the word "project" in my business I knew it was bogus. It is always fun to see how long they will stay on hold before they finally get the "drift" that no one is going to speak with them. What a game...and it never ends.
- Caller: Not sure "unknown" 877 number

- Frank replies to ElleThere is NOTHING more irritating in a business that is thriving than to have, not just ONE, but many calls from solicitors over the course of a day, interrupting the normal flow of business. Maybe it is a career for some to do phone soliciting, but it is nothing short of disrespect to continuously call back after being told time and time again...."WE ARE NOT INTERESTED!" If I had my way, telemarketers would be subject to legal penalties for the tactics and abrasive abuse of business phone lines. I don't pay my phone bill to be harassed by people who can't get a REAL JOB!!!
- maggie replies to maggieDespite the fact that our executive director has now told these people twice that we do not have funding for advertising and to stop calling, they keep trying every month or so.
- ClaireAsked for the owner by name. I had he wasn't in and asked if I could help him. Said he was with a radio station and was doing a call a thon. They had an add just for us and used our company by name and I said we were not interested. He hung up right away.
- JuliaThis number just called our office asking for the owner, told her that the owner wasn't here, asked if he was on a long weekend, said no, he is on a long retirement. She then asked to speak to someone about a contribution for a local radio station WECU something having to do with children. Told her that as far as contribution were concerned we had already reached our limit for this year and that we would not be donating anymore. Told her that if she didn't already know that the economy was not good and that I was sure that she had heard that quite a few times and not just from me. Told her wasn't interested in and that she needed to stop calling.
- Caller: not provided

- SecretaryHe wanted to sell us radio ads for the 4th of July saluting the troops to encourage folks to send care packages to them. What was funny was he said he was calling on behalf of a local station. I know the local station manager and i mentioned his name. He was bumbling around that...We don't buy radio time.

- MooseI got a call from these Jokers this afternoon in regards to care packages for the troops. I have no problem with supporting the troops, I do have a problem with telemarketers doing it.
What I have done in the past is start giving fake names of people that they need to speak with, then when someone calls asking for John Smith, or Sally Jones, you then know that you can have some fun with the low-lives that they are. Sorry, I have zero respect for people that cannot understand that you don't want their crap or to buy whatever they are trying to sell you.- Caller: Multimedia Marketing

- maggie replies to maggieThe "new communications manager" for "Solid Gold 1450" tried this time. I wouldn't put him through to our top person. When I tried to call them back in an effort to get off their mailing list, it went to voicemail for some media company. No way am I giving them my name or phone number, so I'll just have to try to intercept the call next time.
- maggie replies to maggieAnother call today, wanting to "thank" our director for something. I made it very, very clear that he's wasting his time by calling and not to try it again. They are excessively persistent.
- trido replies to dannykitchthis time he said he was with hometown radio 1350.
however that is seeling ads I guess - GABS INCHAVE THEM BLOCKED BUT THEY STILL CALL, 5 TIMES IN THE LAST TWO DAYS. SELLING RADIO ADS.. WONT REMOVE YOU FROM THERE LIST THEY JUST KEEP CALLING...

- Communications ManagerCaller asked for our executive director by name. I told him she was out all week, asked if I could take a message. He asked for her cell number, I refused and told him (her publicly searchable) email was best. Caller hung up abruptly after cell # refusal.
