Caller left message saying they are from oxford healthcare. Called insurance company- It's not them. Spam

They left vms with my father saying it was United Healthcare and i needed to call back to verify some claims and left a security code. I confirmed with UHC that the numbers is not one of theirs and they suggested not to call back. It's a scam.

Pretty much the same story as a lot of others.  United Health Care confirmed they did not call me.

I got a robocall voicemail from "Linda" at "United Healthcare" from a Georgia number, to call back a 877 number, and to use the security code they provided me.

For me, using a robocall and having a name (Linda) associated with it, reeks of a scam.

But it's such a mixed bag of responses on here.  Hmmmm...

BTW... I blocked the number.  I already completed this info on their web site.  If this is really UHC and they need to get a hold of me, the can find another avenue to do it rather than this poor choice of using a robocaller.

I received a call yesterday and the message from this number advised that they were calling from United Healthcare and need to verify if I had additional insurance coverage and that I need to call 877-828-5743 and enter an 8 digit code that they gave me.  I sent a message to United Healthcare through my account on their MyUHC site asking them if this was a legitimate call and this was their answer.   "  We would like to inform you that we do not have information about the call you have received,  We have also verified your account there is no information about any outreach made from UnitedHealthcare.  Please disregard the call."    This is obviously a phishing scam.

This is the second time in as many months.  I’m about 99% sure I don’t have Oxford Health Plans,   The first time I received the call, I decided to call,and let them know that perhaps they had me mixed up.  I gave them name, address, etc.  They couldn’t find any info, and then they asked me for SS# - which unfortunately seems reasonable, as health care plans have that info.   I declined to give it — Got another call this morning - am not calling them this time

Same as above: Received message to call with an "eight-digit security code 14427685" to help expedite my United Health Care Coordination of Benefits. Had UHCare several years ago, but have used 2 other companies since.  Will not call back, sounds like a Soc Sec Nbr scam.

Although UHC was not initially saying it was they're call (I did a chat with them), they finally acknowledged that it was.  It seems to be via a third party, which I don't think is cool.  It was about coordination of benefits.  Its a little alarming that these days you can get a legitimate call and so much is called in to question!

In any case, I believe this was legitimate.  They did not ask me for any personal information.

Revived call today from Linda (automated caller) providing this number and PIN for United Healthcare to expedite claims. NOBODY leaves a PIN on a voicemail.
